Up to ten feet (three metres) tall, these flightless predators used to put fear into the animal population of South America of about twelve million years ago. And, let’s be honest, they’d put fear into us if they hadn’t become extinct long before the first humans wandered there.
The picture I’ve dug up doesn’t show its claws to good effect… try imagining a velociraptor with both arms tied behind its back.
