The U.S. isn't as united as it would have you believe.
Meanwhile and I agree on alot of things, but we have our little debates. Like over Miranda July for instance. I agree with gb man as well, but you picked three people that go fairly well together.
Wow, you are the smartest 13 year old I've ever come across. Peace seems to be used more so to point the finger, and avoid responsibility. For example, look at what Kittyn said on the first page of this forum and the replies to it.
how about life? the mirical that it is. that we all take for granted. that if one little thing had gone diffrently in the past we might not have existed?
The threat of war creates peace. Mankind will be peaceful in totality one day, but that time hasn't arrived. The idea that Iran and North Korea should have nukes but not the UK or US is a worrying one…
the more i learn about humans the more my beleif in world peace slips away.
i don't think it will be evey achieved by just us working at it, unless we all receive spirtitual enlightenment and be come selfless we will always lust for conflict. no war will take alot of work as well. milterism has completley englophed the US it's more an indresty then any thing else any more.
Well, once again, peace isn't simply an issue of the state, it starts within. If you can achieve inner peace, you might find more patience. There are just as many people rooting for peace who are not self respecting and are not peaceful in their everyday lives. All theory and no action doesn't accomplish much.
That's called a hypocrite. It points the finger, but what about your place in the situation? My grandmother hates everything Walmart stands for. However, everything is cheap there, so she chooses to shop there. Once again, all theory, no action. That's okay if you like it that way, it just doesn't do much.
No, you took it the wrong way. What I"m saying, is that you can PRACTICE peace and promote it, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're at peace with yourself. As in, you have inner turmoil, insecurity, and so on.
Plenty are promoting world peace. What is that saying? Another view in a sea of others. Work toward what you want, I guess. At least it will give you something to feel hopeful about. Or you can remember that we all share the same fate along with the Earth and everything in the entire universe. How much of this conversation carries into your daily thoughts compared to "I want to go there" or "I want to have that"?
In terms of the universe, any progress made by man is insignificant. There is little hope for man in the grand scheme of things. Progression of culture, etc. is not relevant to my previous statement.
In regards to Nihilism, its definition is more specific than that. You can brand my words with what label you want however. I probably don't carry that term with as negative a connotation as you just implied, though I'd prefer to avoid debates based strictly on language.
I never gave it a negative connotation, as you just implied. Nor did I label it, nor did I give the definition of it, and I'm not sure where you get that there is very little hope for man in the grand scheme of things, when you don't know the grand scheme.
I don't believe in man's dreams about the unknown due to the vastness of the universe and clear ignorance of which I don't need to explain, especially in the 'Peace' catagory. Of course I don't know of an after life (though I'm leaning one way) if that is what you're referring to, but of course that is beside the point. Our solar system, just like the rest, will evolve to its highest point and die. Not all at once, of course. Maybe you have hope for solar system hopping? Who knows. It's irrelevant to this conversation. Clearly you place a heavier weight on 'the meaning of life' than I do.
I'm not sure how I place a heavier meaning on life out of two comments I've left and I'm not really sure how you got most of that out of what I said. Just because we die and the solar system will die, doesn't mean we shouldn't take on goals and pursue dreams. I also didn't say anything about an after life, or about "man's dreams about the unknown." I don't see what problem there has in discussing things on a Peace forum, in one way or another, everything in connected. I don't think you should make assumptions about me or what I place a weight on.

She have just 3 in her family now and soon 5, for this she sold every thing, bought a house there, has leaved her friends and fam and she didnt had a boyfriend or partner to join her. Offcourse we all keep in touch, but she feels pretty lonly outthere. And her inner peace isnt as calm as her peacefull action.

I don't blame you, just start from where you came in! That's what I did! Shhhh! That'll be our secret…
winks ok a gb ;0
True GB, that different countries have different concepts - I am the one who wrote that ;)-
But then again, you, Vano and Meanwhile all come from USA, so, at least you three should agree on the concepts you use... or maybe not? ;)
Just wondering...:)
The U.S. isn't as united as it would have you believe.

Haha, I see your point. But, I mean, in terms of 'concepts' you should all agree, huh?
Like.. when you say 'liberal' it means the same thing to all of you, or 'religious', etc...
?
Ah, yes. I see what you mean now.
Because to us even concepts can create misunderstandings ;)
yes in the US u have alot of diffrent people from alot of diffrent places who believe alot of diffrent things.
and we can't really agree on much....
So you too are from the US, Ileah? ;)
uhuh.. could u tell ;)
i think that peace has been classified and no war to much
when really u can peace in ur life
be a peacemaker
settle arguements peacsivly
i think we need to conqure ourselves before we try the world

well see if everyone who CLAIMS that they want peace tryed for inner peace 1st the problem would take care of it self
except not everyone wants peace.
Like whoever tries to stir up things again….;)
the diffrence between peace and war
Peace could be a goal but it will never be solution.
War will never be a goal, but could be a solution.
Peace can be a solution…..
i don't think world is possible
definetly the BEST THING ON THE PLANT! <3I certainly can't think of anything better on a plant.
how about life? the mirical that it is. that we all take for granted. that if one little thing had gone diffrently in the past we might not have existed?
ileah… they said plant.. not planet. Vano was just mocking the girl below him.
oooooh oops XD

vano u took the thoughts right outta my head! hugs u
But you can also practice and support peace even if you're not at peace with youself.

this is true
but what is any of us doing to promote world peace?!

I'm not sure what that has to do with what I said, if it does.
Sounds kind of nihilistic to me. As if, we haven't progressed or made serious changes in the world.
In terms of the universe, any progress made by man is insignificant. There is little hope for man in the grand scheme of things. Progression of culture, etc. is not relevant to my previous statement.

peace makes me happy. and i think that's all that matters for me. :)
no comment actually
it means to be in the midst of all those things and still have calm in your heart.
i hate it when rich republican teenage girls use the peace sign even tho they have no clue about the world outside their perfct life.
