I used to play this game in black and white back in school
I always died about two feet from the end. :grouchy:
Do you have a copy? I never played this version before.
Were you like one of the first people on this site?
Me? I don’t have a copy of this game, unfortunately. My old school had it on one computer.. which everyone in my class fought to get to. Ohhhh, dear. What fun that was.
I cannot say who the first people on this site were! But I know I arrived a year ago. Though it seems like only a few months ago.
We had one of the first versions, but not the Dos one. It was on Windows 3.1 I believe. There was also Amazon Trail, Math Blaster and Putt Putt.
How old are you? Are you talking about elementary school?
276 pounds of food is alot to steal.
Oh my god, this used to be my absolute favourite game. I used to shoot like 10 buffalo just because I could, greedy little child that I was.
Oregon Trail came out for the Commodore 64 maybe eight years before the DOS version. My experience with it was on the Apple IIE , but all the versions were fairly similar. At this point, I think pretty much everyone under 30 played some this game when they were in elementary school in some form or another. Which is kind of nice. Who doesn’t love a tradition? Especially one that teaches grade school children that life is arbitrary and staggeringly cruel.
Vano, yes, elementary. I wish I could find it again. And the age is 18.
That is so weird. I pictured you as around 24, but right after I asked, somehow I knew you were going to say 18.
Ahhh.. what magic..
Calm down.
If I must.
Oh man, this brings back the memories…
For some strange reason I died every time I attempted to ford a river. And I liked the hunting part the best, but I could never shoot those stupid squirrels!
Oh Poopface… we hardly knew ye… :(
