Synopsis
Synopsis 1 15-year-old Ikeuchi Aya was an ordinary girl, the daughter of a family who works at a tofu shop, and a soon-to-be high schooler. However, odd things have been happening to Aya lately. She has been falling down often and walks strange. Her mother, Shioka, takes Aya to see the doctor, and he informs Shioka that Aya has spinocerebellar degeneration – a terrible disease where the cerebellum of the brain gradually deteriorates to the point where the victim cannot walk, speak, write, or eat. A cruel disease, as it does not affect the mind in the least. How will Aya react when told about her disease? And how will Aya live from now on?
Synopsis 2 This beautifully moving drama is based on the real-life struggles of a 15-year-old girl named Aya who suffered from an incurable disease, but lived life to the fullest until her death at 25. The script is based on the diary Aya kept writing until she could no longer hold a pen. The book that later followed entitled “One Litre of Tears” has sold over 1.1 million copies in Japan alone.

I cried in every episode...Episodes 8 through to 11...I don't think I stopped crying.
It's so sad, but sometimes I wasn't sure whether I was crying because I was happy...Or because I was sad.
It's got to be the best emotional dorama I've ever seen.
I didn't see this, but it sounds too depressing, it would make me feel too sad since it is based on true story and she didn't live long. I don't like sad thing, it better to cheer me up to watch funny drama.
I think that eventhough its a really sad dorama, it gaves you reasons to enjoy and respect your life!! I think its a MUST watch! I think Aya as many other's with deaseases are an example of braveness and great appreciation for life!

Eu amo esse dorama! Eu literalmente chorei 1 litro de lágrimas, além do que o haruto é o Ryo-chan! Eu já assisti três vezes mais o especial. A partir do episódio 8 ao 11 eu parecia uma torneira quebrada!
Depois que assisti isso(assim como Nobuta wo Produce) eu mudei o meu jeito de encarar a vida.

This is such an amazing drama! It really moved me and made me be thank-ful for what I had. And ov course I must've cried at the very least one litre ov tears throughout watching this. ;__; Poor Aya and Haruto! (which r amazing actors btw)
