Edit: The only real voice of the X (lost) generation? The realest rock figure of all time? The best noise that you can squeeze out of from an electric guitar, a bass and drums? The band that deserves the title “cult” more than any other have been? Hell yeah! Just like the revolution made by Jimi Hendrix 30 years before them Nirvana changed the wave of music complately within only 4 years of time. They showed that the real life isn’t shiny and happy as it seems on the 80’s TV. The sound coming from the underground destroyed the hair-metal and pop. The message was so clear in the lyrics of Smells Like Teen Spirit: “I’m worst at what I do best and for this gift I feel blessed”. They had proud for what they really are and showed millons of teens that they’re not alone. They had a voice now. Yeah, they had.. Kurt Cobain’in suicide was unexpected at all. Clearly the record labels used his deep depression. Because it was selling madly. Whatever the reason depression, drugs or Courtney Love he’s gone; but through his voice, the music of Nirvana kept ringing in the air. It still helps me and people “like me” out. R.I.P.

Nirvana is one of the few bands that got it right. It was all about the music for them (well, at least for Kurt), and they rocked so hard.

Well, for one thing to be kind of controversial, and also because Kurt Cobain was a tortured genius. Rape does not always refer to forced sex. The original meaning of the word was just stealing (i.e. rape now means “stealing virginity”). In the contest of the song, he’s basically saying “I know you’re going to screw me over (literally or figuratively) so just get it over with”.
Of course… just one girl’s opinion.

Nirvana’s song “Rape Me” told the story of a man who rapes a woman, goes to prison, and is raped there. It’s a comedy.

The fact is that he was murdered by a shotgun. Because shotguns are too long to pull the trigger with your fingers, people who commit suicide do it by sitting in a chair and using their toes to pull the trigger. Kurt Cobain died with his shoes on.
I don’t think Courtney did it, but I think she hired someone to do it. Kurt was planning to leave her (some speculate that the “suicide note” was actually a “I’m-dumping-you note” that she added onto to make it look like a suicide note—the handwriting on the last part is different than the rest), and she didn’t want to lose her sugar daddy. Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth doesn’t believe he killed himself, either.
i was told it wasnt a suicide note, but a note to inform that he was leaving the music business. anyways, kurt had 3 injections of heroin. technically, some one with that much heroin in their system cant possibly be concious. so i conclude. yes, kurt was MURDERED . yes, i think courtney has something to do with it.

You're right. She would've never been able to cover up a crime of this importance. The death of an idol. I don't know, there's such a conspiracy theory about this subject, and I think it's been too many years now to find out what really happened there. And all this 'investigators' and 'detectives' with new clues and evidences just want to gain their share as well. The media just took advantage of their rising popularity, and Kurt's left the singer status, to become a legend.

yes, he killed himself. no, courtney didn't do it. yes, it was a suicide note (hence the last few sentences of it. about frances' life being so much better without him and all). and at any rate, the case is closed. he was a treasure, and it's sad that his life ended so early. but do you really think he'd be all that happy if he were still around?

Kurt Cobain was a genius to our music industry and changed it for a lifetime, so bad now a days we have no originality in our music like he brought us, he was new, and real, and brought hopes to make people want to find themselvs and be who they really are. he was god, and inspiration, to not only souls back then but for me now. he was awesome, and for anyone who doesnt like him then thats your opinion, but hes my inspiration to be myself and be who i truley am and fuck the rest of the people who dont like it, so fuck the people who dont like kurt cobain he was a genius and legend.

i think they are way overrated. surely not as good as pearl jam. Dave Grohl is a great musician though, and is for me much much bigger then kurt.
I never got why they're so huge. Perhaps because I didn't live during their period. Or maybe Kurt's death just contributed a lot to this whole 'Idol Status'.
