My Chemical Romance is an American Pop-Punk band, formed in New Jersey, USA. Origionally based in NJ, the band is now based in Los Angeles (The current home of Gerard, Mikey, and Frank). The band was formed by lead singer Gerard Way, lead guitarist Ray Toro and former drummer Matt Pelliser. Mikey Way (bassist) joined the band after listening to the Skylines And Turnstiles (a song about Gerard's feelings after 9/11) demo, and liking it a lot. Frank Iero joined the band after MCR realized they needed a rhythm guitarist to fill in their sound, and after the band Pencey Prep (in which Frank sang lead vocals) broke up. My Chemical Romance (MCR) is known for it's theatricallity and it's most famous song, "Welcome to the Black Parade".
