Minbo

The full title is “Minbo: the Gentle Art of Japanese Extortion,” released in Japan as “Minbo no Onna.” Directed by Juzo Itami, his portrayal of the yakuza in an unflattering light led to an attack by the Goto-gumi yakuza gang that nearly proved to be fatal. It has some truly charming moments and is fascinatingly quirky, much like Itami’s earlier “Tampopo.”
