Millennium was a television series that premiered on Friday October 25, 1996. The series was Chris Carter’s much anticipated follow-up to the very popular The X-Files. Millennium focused on the work of ex-FBI profiler Frank Black. Frank had a special ability to see into the minds of serial killers. He also worked for a mysterious organization called the Millennium Group which seemed to take a special interest in serial killers and end of the world prophecy.
In the first season, Frank lived in Seattle with his wife Catherine and daughter Jordan. The show focused on Frank’s work as a profiler. He spent most of his time in the first season trying to solve serial murder cases.
During the second season, the show primarily on Frank’s relationship with the Millennium Group. He separated from his wife after his violent rescue of her from a stalker. Frank learned that the Millennium Group was a secret society that believed that the world was coming to an end. During that season, Frank spent much of his time working with Millennium Group member Peter Watts and fellow investigator Laura Means.
After the death of his wife at the end of the second season, Frank severed all connection with the Millennium Group and returned to work with the FBI . With the help of special agent Emma Hollis, he began to investiagate the Millennium Group itself. The show was canceled at the end of the third season.
In later 1999, the show received a conclusion of sorts in a crossover with The X-files entitled Millennium.
Alex Ventoux: God doesn't move us by telling us the facts. He moves us by pains and contradictions. He's given me a lack of understanding: not answers, but questions. An invitation to marvel.
Bob Bletcher:What do you see?
Frank Black:I see what the killer sees.
Bob Bletcher:What, like a psychic?
Frank Black:No. I put myself in his head. I become the thing we fear the most.
Bob Bletcher:How?
Frank Black:I become capability. I become the horror. What we know we can become only in our heart of darkness. It's my gift. It's my curse.
Frank Black: I'm not depressed. Just quiet.
Frank Black: We all make believe.
Frank Black: It is prophesied that when the end comes, it will come in darkness: a catastrophe all foresaw but few believed. Most of us will battle too late against the chaos, but not the few, the radical few, who obey no discipline. Unencumbered by conscience, they prepare ruthlessly pursuing their own preservation. If they survive, the rest of us perish.
Jordan Black: Will we always be together?
Frank Black: Of course.
Jordan Black: Forever?
Frank Black: Well, nobody gets forever.
Jose Chung: I humbly add my own prophecy of what the dawn of the new millennium shall bring forth: one thousand years of the same old crap.
Jose Chung: Unlike profiling serial killers, writing is a lonely and depressing profession.
Peter Watts: St. Augustine said that miracles are not contrary to nature, only what we know about nature.
William Gary: Do you know what it's like to scream in silence three hundred and sixty five days of the year?
The Old Man: Serial killers, mass murderers, it's all genetics. Inevitability. You have no idea about... true evil.
Bob Bletcher: This Millennium Group - They really believe all that stuff - Nostradamus and Revelations, the destruction of the world?
Frank Black: They believe we can't just sit back and hope for a happy ending.
Agent Devlin: Everybody's got a theory on the increasing violence in our society.
Agent Emmerich: My wife thinks it's the artificial hormones in beef.
Agent Devlin: What's your take?
Frank Black: I don't think it's the beef.
The Old Man: We must respect evil, and we must make evil respect us.
Cass Doyle: "Survival of the fittest: That's what it's about. If you don't move on, you end... or you're ended."
Cass Doyle: "...Not everything evolves. Some things just happen... like the eye. Even Darwin worried about the eye. The iris, lens, retina. How could any of those things evolve in isolation? How could they be useful in isolation? So how did the eye happen? How? Accident! It just happened."
Frank Black: "You can corrupt men but you cannot corrupt innocence."

I adore this show, it’s so underrated.
an example of how a sci fi fiction should be made. i liked it better than the x- files. showed chris in a more matured coming of age tv series maker.
Does anybody remeber the episode "Somehow, Satan got behind me?" I thought it was very ingenious.
in my opinion ,the best Chris Carter work and the best tv series.
I am writing this to introduce our campaign to you and in the process I hope to gain your support for our efforts.
http://www.backtofrankblack.com/ is a website we have created to serve as a hub for a campaign to bring 'Frank Black' back to our screens. As many of you will be aware, Frank was the lead protagonist in the 20th Century Fox series "Millennium". Created by X-Files supremo Chris Carter and starring acting veteran Lance Henriksen the show went on to acquire not only awards but a massive cult following as well as breaking many of the boundaries of genre and crime serials at that time.
Since the show reached its conclusion it has not only retained its fans but found many new and enthusiastic supporters through its successful release on DVD and via constant repeat broadcasts throughout the world. It has spread its appeal globally and has inspired fan communities and websites hailing from as far afield as Western and Eastern Europe, USA, Canada, Mainland China and many more besides.
Due to the recent speculation that Lance Henriksen was to reprise the role in "X-Files: I Want To Believe" a huge swell of support and interest in the character was evident in all corners of the Internet. Webmasters were deluged with inquiries, message boards were flooded with shows of support and campaigns emerged on social networking sites and entertainment communities. In addition this desire was bolstered when Frank Spotnitz noted his own, and Chris Carter's, desire to reinvigorate the franchise and called on fans for their support. We are those fans and this campaign is our response to their call.
At the very heart of our efforts is a letter writing campaign, five minutes of your time will make a huge difference and we urge you all to check out the campaign website for hints, tips, templates and contact addresses. All of you can make a real contribution to one of the most coherent efforts thus far seen to return a magnificent character to where he truly belongs: back on our screens not just in our hearts.
Over at the website there is ample to get you started as well as campaign wallpapers, avatars and even a Millennium Game to while away the time. For this campaign to work it needs you and it needs your letter but we are confident we can make a big noise and have every faith that you will support us. In closing, thank you for taking the time to read this, head over to the website and read what the campaign entails but most importantly, take this campaign out there and make your voices heard.
The time is now.....let's bring Frank Black back!
