Taken from the 1970 album ‘McCartney’, it is perhaps the best rock ballad he ever wrote. A touching song, yet never too sweet and definitely not a ‘silly love song’! Piano and guitar rock, and Paul’s voice here is amazingly beautiful. Check it out, it is a real gem.

Yup, his early solo work was incredible.
Yes, this album is very good… considering he played all the instruments by himself!!
Even with the Beatles he had a tendency to want to do the instruments himself. Especially in the later years. Check out Bob Spitz’s Beatles biography! Awesome book.
yes he was a musical genius but had some ego problems! ;-) I haven’t read the Bob Spitz biography, when was it released?
Couple of years ago I think.. those guys were amazing though (no pun intended). So much talent at such a young age…
Yes you are right.. I have loved them since I was a child and I never get tired of them. I like many bands of today, but still the pure genius and talent they had cannot be matched. They did almost everything. And I hate having to choose between Lennon or McCartney, I just love all of them for different reasons!
then it is clear clara; there is no real choice
Yep! Absolutely. Have to go now, speak to you later! nice meeting you! ;-)
cool no worries
I think only a real Beatle fan could talk like that! ;-)
What can I say :)
Naw, I just really appreciate their music. Used to be a hardcore fan, now I just listen to them whenever the mood hits.
I think I know all their songs by heart… but i can never get enough!
Really, now? Do you have a favorite Beatles song?
But I digress. Maybe I’m Amazed is a nice song.
I like so many it would be hard to tell… Here I posted ‘The Word’ as my ‘best Beatles song’, but of course there are many others… I love Rain, Dear Prudence, While My Guitar, I’ll Cry Instead, Fixing a Hole, just to name a few underrated ones…. :-)
None of those are underrated!! I’ve always been partial to George songs myself. And I have a soft spot for Ringo :)
You can check out this stroy, just came from the BBC

Thanks for this! I just read it… well, it’s quite touching from Paul to say this. And who could not agree with him? Lennon-McCartney is the greatest songwriting partnership of all times. Each one of them as solo artist did a few very good things, but nothing could match their collaboration.
That is true, many artists these days dream of having a musical partnership in the Lennon-McCartney vain.
Hey, it could happen. Maybe even in our lifetime, eh? You never can tell :)
Yes possibly…. although I am afraid we’re running out of ideas! ;-)
Are we really? I don’t think we could ever run out of ideas..
i know.. but musical notes are only 7 – or 12 – and there is not much else that can be tried by combining them!! lol
Hmmm… Let’s think about that for a while now :)
YOu play guitar? I do. just acoustic, though! ;P
Yes, I play. I can’t say I’m very good though. So sad!
I have both an acoustic and electric. I prefer electric. I have to get a new acoustic guitar, because mine’s in pretty bad shape.
I have a nice Yamaha. BOught it second hand, ;) I am not that wonderful, but I like playing it. Electric guitar’s cool, but for playing alone acoustic is better.
Sure, my electric guitar’s a Yamaha too :)
I like the fact that I can play around with the amp whenever I play.
I’m the exact opposite, for a group of people I prefer acoustic!
Well both are cool! ;) I did play acoustic and rhythm guitar live with a band last year. It was thrilling! I like to keep the rhythm!
Really, you played in a band?
Awesome! That’s really cool.
It’d be great to jam with you :)
It is actually a band with which i perform occasionally. Usually at charity or special event concert. Last year it was in a square full of people, and it was exciting!! We are all musicians who get together seldom, but we have a good feeling on stage.
Yes I’d love to jam with you!;)
Great, now we just have to figure out how that could be done.
But seriously though, that’s really great, what you and your friends do. Unfortunately, there’s not that many people I know within my vicinity or circle who play anything.
It’s sad :(
Put an ad…;) Keep trying, it is well worth! ;) I am also in a Beatles cover band, but I only sing.
You sing too?! Wow. My voice sucks but I do it anyway.
Clara, you sound too good to be true!
Yep singing is my main activity, actually. I learnt some guitar some years ago to accompany my voice. So I am not a great guitarist, really! ;) I like to play with vocal harmonies – just as the Beatles did, remember ‘Because’?
Sure. Elliott Smith did a pretty good cover of that song.
