The classic art auction game from the 1970's, 'Masterpiece' remains a firm family favourite.
Players assume the role of one of six colourful characters attending the auction,(I remember that I never wanted to be 'Millicent Friendly') trying to bid and bargain their way to a fortune!
But how do you know whether you are bidding on a priceless masterpiece, or a worthless forgery? The winner is the player who has acquired the the largest fortune in paintings and cash at the end of the auction.
I learned a lot about Art playing this game.I think it may have determined my reaction to many of the exhibits in the Tate Modern...
