Her husband, Petrit Spahija, is French.
She gave birth to her first child, a son called Tomás, on January 26th 2006. The baby's father is Petrit Spahija.
When she was 12 her family moved to São Paulo.Maria Fernanda studied in São Luiz School in São Paulo.She's also a model. She started to modeling at the age of 14.
She's graduated in occupational therapy by São Paulo University.She creates projects to integrate mental and physiques deficient.
Maria Fernanda loves to read. She's the director of Casa do Saber (Knowledge House).
Her first big role in Tv was Paola in the soap "Terra Nostra" (1999).
She got married to Petrit Spahira in São Luiz church in São Paulo. Among the guests were actors Laura Cardoso, Raul Cortez, Denise Del Vecchio, Daniela Escobar and Ariclê Perez.

Trabalhou na Europa como modelo, antes de estrear na televisão como VJ no programa Ilha do Biquíni, da MTV. No ano seguinte gravou a abertura da telenovela A Indomada, mas o sucesso veio verdeiramente em 1999, quando da participação na novela Terra Nostra, de Benedito Ruy Barbosa. Pela interpretação, foi eleita a mulher mais bonita do século, numa votação do programa global Fantástico.
É formada em terapia ocupacional pela USP e, paralelamente aos trabalhos como atriz, Maria Fernanda desenvolve projetos de integração de deficientes físicos e mentais.
