Marge vs. the Monorail is an episode from the fourth season that aired on the 14th of January, 1993.
After Mr Burns is caught illegally dumping nuclear waste at a park, he is fined three million dollars, and the citizens of Springfield hold a meeting to try and discuss what to spend the money on, with little success. Enter Lyle Lanley (guest starring the late Phil Hartman), and through the best song in the show's history, the town is convinced to invest the money into a monorail.
As ever, things don't go as planned.
