Ah, Manchester… how it's changed over the last twenty-five years!
My father said that about two weeks ago. ;-) To be fair, It has changed a lot in the last fifteen years (which would be my frame of reference, as I'm 24.). I'm guessing the IRA bomb had a lot to do with it (Sorry, I don't mean to bring things down but i guess it's inevitable when mentioning such things).* shuts up *
I have a small personal anecdote in connection with the IRA. My car was parked (for most of the day) no more than a hundred yards from where their bomb exploded. Luckily, it was the day before.
I've had an understandable reluctance to visit since.
