Mac OS X

We have Terminal… we have ports… grandma can burn DVDs from her Digital Video camera and mail them to her kids and grand kids… Windows users? Not a hope in hell. Mac OS X is the best operating system on the market today by offering more features than Microsoft’s future Windows Vista already at its 10.4 Tiger version. 10.5 Leopard version is scheduled to ship next Spring and will offer tons of new features like Safari’s integration with Dashboard, Spaces, Time Machine, a new version of iChat and Boot Camp….

Using it until November… very good OS.
As geeky as I am, I mainly just need an OS that’s rock solid and facilitates workflow, with zero virii/trojans/spyware, etc. People have been talking about Mac malware for the last couple years, but I haven’t seen ONE . This from someone who downloads several gigabytes DAILY on newsgroups.
That said, if Windows could ever be as secure as OS X , I would love to have that OS on another partition. There are some killer PC apps, and also Macromedia apps always work a bit better on Windows.
“This from someone who downloads several gigabytes DAILY on newsgroups.”
That’s alot of pron.. You need the extra security of a *nix based OS.
:)
Yeah I agree about Macromedia apps run like arse on the Mac (and they look like arse and behave like arse, too). I don’t think Macromedia take OS X seriously.
My solution is to not use Macromedia products at all! What a relief.

It’s not pron! I swear to God it isn’t!!! i have to go now…

Re: not using MM apps: this is not yet an option for me, but may change when/if I switch to StyleMaster . This app looks great! But then, what to do about Flash?
I don’t care what everybody else thinks… but for me this OS is far better than everything else on the market…
No other operating system can boast the the fact that “it just works”. Rarely any system maintenance intervention required in order to enjoy day-to-day computing.
Yeah Mac Os rulz!!!
I was a diehard windows fella. Only becuase i had never though of trying anything else. I tried 10.4. And well…I didn’t think it was possible to go without any problems! It is by-far the best OS. They are so far ahead, and well…obviously windows likes them, since they steal everything ( a bit late..lol..look at vista…pretty much a crapy os x 10 :D)
I’m just drawing a conclusion from the votes, but I think this is a Mac friendly site :P
Go Mac OS X ! Hooray for Exposé!
i am an Apple fan…
mmhmm Leopards…
Switched a while ago – would not change back. After using Vista briefly at one point I'm glad I switched when I did.
The best looking Operating System I've ever since. I love my Mac. TextMate FTW!
who are the group belligerent Mac Nazi's that put Mac as one of the best FREE operating systems, *nix systems, and Linux distro's? These Mac users are like meth heads. They make no sense and anything following an i (iphone, itv, ishutthehellupandgetalifestopbuyingthiscrapbecauseitswhiteandglossyandlooksfuturistic) they'll buy. Plus its expesnive, hey try upgrade your hardware compnents to your favorite choice (oh yeah you cant! you gotta choose what mac says. obey the mac god right mac nazis?), play some flash content (ewww), when it crashes (which it does you idiots! especially when using it in professional computing fields like software testing) what data recovery mechanisms are there packaged with it? poop out of luck. Any good games on it besides naming one or two? Hey try using Macs in the professional field, they say ooh pretty shiny, and then they as : can you exchange virtual machines? eehh thats messy i dont know!? When you engineer a waccky way to do it, can you work with ntfs on the virt. machine? oh hell no i'm beat from tryin to get the damn thing just started! Try and find software for macs… not much of a selection. Hell mac hasn't even put the second button on the touchpad for their laptops! and they can't scroll hahaha they can't sroll hahaah. thats hilarious. maybe the guys at mac said, well the scrolly thingy doesnt look cool enough. oh well thats enough for one day.
Using Macbook air~ It’s more easy to bring it out. It’s thin and light. Love it
Hahaha, someone got bitchy… Yes, Mac OS comes FREE with a mac! And it’s the best *NIX because it’s more than just *NIX! Don’t agree with the Linux bit but it’s waay better anyway! As for scrolling… ha ha hardware issue, and of course we scroll with 2 finger trackpads. Now Mac OS Lion has moved into the “sync all devices” arena with iCloud, it’s awesome!
