M-flo

m-flo (short for ‘media-rite flow’) is a Japanese music group with members, VERBAL (MC) and ☆Taku Takahashi (DJ). They began in 1999 with former vocalist, LISA , but she decided to pursue a solo career in 2002. Since then, m-flo has been ‘loving’ (or collaborating with) other artists for about 4 years, and finally announced that the ‘love’ series would end with their fifth and latest album, COSMICOLOR .

m-flo is renown for their collaborations. They originally started as a hip-hop group, but they’ve since broken the barriers and reached pop, dance, jazz, and more to fit their collaborator’s style. They became successful with their numerous collaborations, and their albums topped the charts. During all this, VERBAL and ☆Taku Takahashi amazingly even led their own various solo works and projects. Not only have they made songs with a vast variety of artists from all over Asia, they’ve also helped shine some light on some of the lesser-known artists. m-flo has undoubtedly set a milestone in musical collaborating history.

The future of m-flo is uncertain as of now, but whether they recruit a new vocalist and return to their profound hip-hop or continue as the revolutionized duo, they’ll surely ‘make an impact like a meteorite’ wherever they go.
