Love can be painful and feel good. When you love someone secretly and they don't know it, you want to tell them but are afraid of how they'll react. If they'll get rejected, their heart torn to pieces. Loving someone when you know they love you back equally is the best feeling in the world.

You only have one life to live. Don't be afraid to take a chance at love.

~ Saphirasakurasuicune,Jess, 13 (me)

No, this trick won't work...How on earth are you ever going to explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love?
-Albert Einstein, taken by kawaiiBOOM, just because she like science. :D

NON IMPORTA COME AMI....IN CHE FORMA...L'IMPORTANTE Eè PROVARE QUESTO SENTIMENTO...UNICO STIMOLO VERO RIMASTO.....

People who truly love look forward to their relationship growing more meaningful and precious. They have hope. Which is an attitude that happily anticipates the good. It isn't being blind and denies there are problems, but it does look beyond the problems. People who truly love each other do not allow their problems to rob them of their happiness.

Culture is anything to do witha certain society, like, traditions, education, language, entertainment, daily life, and so on. So, pop culture is just the popular, or influential, things within those things. But yeah, things like taco bell, micdonalds, would be. But also Emeril, "soul food", and the different varities that are society offer, such as chinese, thai, indian, italian, and so on.

That's just how I see it. I mean, I could be completely and utterly wrong.

dumbbrunette
dumbbrunette posted about 1 year ago

ok wikipedia say culture: refers to patterns of human activity and the symbolic structures that give such activity significance. which matches upt o what you said and I agree, pop culture is just that, culture that is popular, i.e. sports, tv shows, movies, music, food,.... but then you have to draw a line somewhere right/ like certain activities like dancing or sex or they apart of pop culture because they're apart of culture and they're popular. And then also what if something is only popular with a certain group of people but it is a huge part of their sub-culture?

btw I love that we're having this conversation under the 'love' forum :)

To me, pop culture is something that has influence something or another within culture and represents a time, phase, style, technique, or whatever, that had either been popular, unique, or expressive. So, that's my own look at it.

I would think that sub-cultures are apart of pop culture. So, whatever partakes within that subculture, would seem like something is apart of pop culture. Like hippies for example, they are a sub-culture, and their are many things that happened within that sub-culture that becomes apart of pop culture.

Words are a way to communicate. Maybe the important thing is what we experience in our day to day lives, not definitions. In reality, no, you don't have to draw the line somewhere because everyone has a different point of view. Wikipedia and Webster can't really tell me any different on something so flexible. The Breakfast Club is part of my view of pop culture. I've discussed what poetry means with an English teacher, and what art is with an art teacher. We debated, and I don't think that just because I'm younger and don't have as much experience in that field, that I have no say. I have killed several clawvipers in my time, but I'm putting that all behind me now.

Although I'm not a gamer, clawvipers are a made up snake/beast from the game Diablo 2.

Something beautiful, and amazing. I want to share it with you. I haven't finished my movie yet, but I want to share it with you and myself so I can fully grasp this. From the movie Adaption, "You are what you love, not what loves you."

Any time anyone has ever put you down for a feeling, nothing can take that feeling, at that moment away. That's yours. All this living in the moment stuff, spoken from the Buddha himself, everyone knows what Truth is, but what does that mean to you? And good and evil are intertwined, simple Taoism. Nothing can seperate the two. But, just because the diamond is buried in the mud, doesn't steal away the diamond's beauty, right?

Life is confusing, and love can be hard but is just knowing that diamond is there worth it all?  Is all of life a perception thing? The things that happen to us I mean? That diamond, always be there shining whether we see it or not. Well, the mud will too. I guess it is all a perception thing.

Love is the best thing to be cured with!

I would have to disagree and say laughter. When you laugh, your body produces endorphines, which also work as anti-cancer/anti-disease drugs. Upping your spirits also gets your immune system working better and allows you to lose your stress and anxiousness which act against your body and encourage disease.

ileah
ileah posted about 1 year ago

yeah.. i'd have to agree with vano

AJMcFly
AJMcFly posted about 1 year ago

I don’t have any silly scientific facts to back up my claims, but I’d have to say that love has more long-lasting impact on overall health than any bout of laughter can have. Plus, love is more important for mental and emotional health. Ergo, love FTW!

ileah

I laugh because I'm happy, because it feels good, and because I'm plotting to kill you in your sleep.

dumbbrunette

I have to agree with Vano, because love can hurt you (pretty badly I might add) Laughing doent hurt it just helps

AJMcFly
AJMcFly posted about 1 year ago

Hello? Laughing until it hurts anyone? ;)

With love, it’s risk versus reward. It’s so worth the potential pain.

dumbbrunette
dumbbrunette posted about 1 year ago

laughing until it hurts are negative words for a positive feeling, and ill take risk and reward anyday over the pain of losing love

AJMcFly
AJMcFly posted about 1 year ago

Anyway, it’s not the love that hurts, it’s the loss of love that hurts. If it hurts that much to lose, doesn’t that prove how amazing it is to have?

dumbbrunette
dumbbrunette posted about 1 year ago

True love is wonderful, Ive never eeven expieranced it but I know that its worth having and losing then never having at all.

But I still love to laugh

ileah
ileah posted about 1 year ago

i don't think one is better than the other

they r both good for diffrent things

Vano
Vano posted about 1 year ago

I didn't say one was better than the other either, but when you're talking about being cured, laughter is the better medicine. You can have all the love in the world, but when you're dying (at worst), it usually takes laughter for that to mean anything and for the world to shine again.

Darth Xelleon
Darth Xelleon posted about 1 year ago

"tis better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all" is that it?

What BS. The only way to accurately compare the two feelings is to experiance both, and that's not even possible.

ileah
ileah posted about 1 year ago

i don't think any one feeling can be better or greater than any other

M_eanwhile
M_eanwhile posted about 1 year ago

Just get your lover to make you laugh, and it's all taken cared of.

AJMcFly
AJMcFly posted about 1 year ago

I don’t think laughter can really do much to heal someone who’s dying, and would do nothing but mask other pains. Sorry. Love will make those pains go away and make you want to live.

As far as the “Tis better to have loved” line, I find it to be true. If you have gone a long time without feeling loved, you can know how painful it is. Let me say this: I did go a long time not feeling loved, and a few months of feeling loved more than made up for it, and those few months were worth the pain I felt/feel of losing it. This is all my opinion from my experience, but to me it proves that true love for a short time is worth anything. I hate to think if I had never experienced such an amazing feeling. It’s very euphoric.

M_eanwhile
M_eanwhile posted about 1 year ago

Actually, Vano is right about that. It's been proven, even for a dying person, sorry.

But I think the "Tis better to have loved and lost, then to have never loved at all" line is true, too.

Boomstam
Boomstam posted about 1 year ago

people serious can die when there is no love in their lifes. a long time ago i told that a roman emperor has proven that.

i dont know that about laughing.

AJMcFly
AJMcFly posted about 1 year ago

I don’t take scientific studies like those very seriously myself. Nowadays they seem to come up with ANYTHING being good for you in some way! And who’s to say that love doesn’t improve one’s health more than laughter? I’m sure it does.

Boomstam
Boomstam posted about 1 year ago

im with AJ on this one

M_eanwhile
M_eanwhile posted about 1 year ago

I'm not saying that it doesn't. That wasn't my point. My point was that laughter does help your health. I never argued that love didn't help. Besides, love doesn't always help. Love can cause stress, pain, sorrow, and so on. Thus leading you to have serious health problems, and if you're dying, heartbreak will most definitely make you die faster. Of course, if everything is happy-go-lucky in your relationship, then rock on.
