Strong men lead by example, not by legislation.

Yes, I know. However, the corruption isn’t going to end with anarchy in the business world. Controlled Capitalism is scary enough. Most people agree that Communism and Socialism are good ideas. Those ideas haven’t been carried out properly yet. Will they? Doubtful. They put too much faith in a select few. Look at big oil. Look at corporations like Walmart. If these businesses have free reign, I don’t trust the common man enough to be able to sleep at night with that going on. I’m not trying to argue, I’m just hoping you could provide an argument moderatly convincing for the average skeptic.

I don’t care to convince skeptics of anything. Skepticism is their problem, not mine. And on the contrary, its the legal restrictions on businesses that force them to be greedy and corrupt in order to compete. In order to be a legal business in this country, one must operate one’s business exactly the way the government requires, or risk being shut down, and it just so happens that legal business models center on growth, rather than economic beneficiality. Not only that but government programs such as the stock market convince people of the incorrect notion that it’s okay to personally consume more than one produces or serves. This philosophy is obvious poison to an economy.

I would disagree that Communism and Socialism are good ideas. I don’t see the logic in the opinion that a market-dependant corporation is more of a threat than a government: an entity that will charge you for its goods and services whether you want or need them or not, and imprison you if you refuse to pay. Currently Wal-Mart may be the world’s largest retail chain, but it at least has competition. As consumers we can still choose other stores. If it were ran by the goverrnment, not only would the retail chain have no competition, but we would all be forced to pay for the products there through taxation, whether we used them or not, or face criminal charges.

So you can see why this notion that the government is a more trustworthy organization than a variety of competative smaller ones might seem illogical to me. It is commonly known in America today that students of private schools test better than students of public schools. To live under Communism is to deal with similar faults in ALL services. Quality drops dramatically when income is guaranteed, reguardless of merit.
