Her vocal range is compared to those of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. She is the first winner of a talent compition to have a global release of her debut album, Spirit. Spririt has gone on to become the biggest selling debut album in the UK and selling 5 million copies worldwide. Her first single from the album, 'Bleeding Love' was the biggest selling single of 2007 and spent 7 weeks at number 1 in the UK. She has become, already, one of the most promising artists to come out of Britain, hitting the number 1 spot accross Europe and in America, she became the first female UK artist to debut her album at number 1 and "Bleeding Love" was the first number 1 by a female UK artists in 20 years.
