History LECH BROWARY is one of the most modern breweries in Europe. Brewing and packaging equipment used in the brewery now only remotely resembles the one used in the 80s, when the brewery was opened, although at that time the machinery and processes were innovative as well. Currently we are capable of producing 145 thousand hectoliters of beer a week. If you filled traditional half-liter bottles with yearly volume and placed them next to each other, they would make a line of over 45 000 km in length, so they would stretch right round the world! And if you lay those bottles down lengthwise, then they would go round the Earth four times.

Year 1872 Józef Mycielski, a landed gentleman, instigates the creation of a brewery in Kobylepole, whose estate forms part of Kompania Piwowarska’s assets to this day.

Year 1951 Due to organizational and ownership changes the state-owned Zakłady Piwowarsko-Słodownicze come into being. It is a rather big company, taking into account that those are the times of the Polish People’s Republic, consisting of the old brewery in Półwiejska Street, as well as Lackowiskiego brewery in Kościelna Street and breweries in Ostrów, Krotoszyn, Bojanowo, Grodzisk Wielkopolski, Czarnków, Trzcianka, Miłosław, Śmigiel, Nowy Tomyśl, Wolsztyn, Września, Gniezno and Konin, together with malt plants in Poznań and Stawiszyn.

Year 1999 LECH Browary Wielkopolski merge with Tyskie Browary Książęce, in which South African Breweries are also the strategic investor. The integration of two companies of different origins and different traditions results in the creation of one of the biggest and most modern brewing companies in Poland. During the consolidation process a large scale investment program is started, valued at more than $ 200 million.
