Possessors of an impressive trajectory, nine discs and tens of prizes (including a North American Grammy, a Grammy Latino and a MTV Award like “Better Band of Rock”) after that beginning, LA LEY is one of the pillars of the rock in Castilian. Each new album, each subject, each video, reflects growth of group that drew for to borders with intelligence and art, that conquered scenes in all Latin America, the United States and Spain, and that harvested in the way the recognition of its followers, the specialized critic and the members of the industry.

HISTORY

LA LEY  by the end of began its professional trajectory years 80 in Chile, a time of absolute creative boiling in all Latin America. In those days, the band had the quintet format, with until today the members Cuevas and Clavería, more Andrés Bobe in the guitar, Luciano Rojas in the bass and Rodrigo Aboitiz - who would move away just a short time of the group later in the keyboards. Together they record DESIERTOS (DESERTS 1989), plate published in independent form and present object of cult for the oldest followers of the group.

But it would not be untill the launching of DOBLE OPUESTO (DOUBLE OPPOSED 1991)-production that marked a luck of "the official debut" of the clan- that LA LEY would hold fast as a serious proposal before the many times unbeliebing eyes of the chilean press. The album included  rithmycal "Prisioneros de la Piel" (Prisoners of the Skin) and a dedicated cover of the hymn of The Rolling Stones, "Angie", who had sent itself like a single even before the exsictence of the LP record.

The hit of DOBLE OPUESTO alowes the band to escalete to the top: they are invited to participate in the celerated Festival de Viña Del Mar, one the events of mayor revelance of Latin America.

By 1993, the band edits LA LEY, disc wich they start to gain territory in their international proyection, fundamentally in Mexico.  Aways faithful to maintai the concept of a vanguardista image, they make two videos to acconpany the realice, proyects a powerfulethic: "Auto-Ruta" (Auto-Rute), (recorded in Miami and the images sorpriced for the oudience for its time), and Tjedores de Ilicion, resulted nominated in the category of best latin video in MTV Latino America.

At the biginning of 1994, LA LEY had already gained its own space in Latin America. The precentations grew, apeared new tours and the band was prepared with power to enter the one that would be its following work of stoudio.

Hoever, the adbercity was going to toch the future of the band and in april  Andres Bobe would had loose his life, after a concer in benefice of the chilean capital. The hard blow takes the fundations of LA LEY, that before the pain chooses to continue living the passion that united them from the first day with Andres: the music.

For it, Cuevas, Claveria Y Rojas again invite Rodrigo Avoitis to be part of the band, and bring a guitarist long ago chosen for LA LEY: Pedro Frugone, who would get uo itself inmediatly and who will form partof the next recoding, INVISIBLE  (1995) recorded in Los Angeles, whit the recognized Humberto Gatica as productor.

The disc is an instantaneous success- only in Mexico it sells the first month 400 thousand copies- and ane of the best works of the chileans. In this disc songs that would become uncoditional classics, like "Animal", "Dia Cero" (day zero) and "El Duelo" ( the duel), that would take Cuevas as songwriter-poet, as an author wich exprses eith carity and deep beauty his feelings about peace, love, espirituality or the complicated ways of humanity.

LA LEY starts a tour for INVISIBLE that took them to steap on the most recognized stages of Latin America ( they had full audience two nights at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico) and United States foduring two years, with more than 120 concerts.

The repacement of the succsesful INVISIBLE was VERTIGO (1998), recorded in New York. A disc that marked tendency within the rock in spsnish by its futurist consept. The VERTIGO coming brougth its self the definitive the good bye of Aboitiz from the band and, not to later , in the of the precentation tour the Luciano Rojas too. The deceptions transform LA LEY into just three, once more, stronger among all that hapend, concers the succes.

More solid tham ever, the band recibes the 2000 with the realize of UNO (one), album conceived between Montreal and Los Angeles and that demonstrates the artistic maturity of the three musicians. Melodies acquires in a UNO (“Aqui", "Fuera de mi", "Paraiso")undeniable instrumental quality and LA LEY raises thanks to this work with North American a Grammy prize to the “Better Album of Latin Alternative Rock”, as well as four Latin American nominations to the Grammy Latino, two nominations to the Prize Ours and other awards (Prize GARDEL - Argentina, four Prizes APES - Chile), etc.

Finally the 2001 would be the year of consolidation of the band in the United States. The Disney studios sumon them to record-in spanish and english- Siempre ( Everytime), theme song of the film "Crazy Beautiful", and MTV invites them to participate on its celebated circle of  acustic concerts Unpuged, that is live recorded in Miami by the end of June of that year again under the production of Humberto Gatica and Ely Guerra as an invited musican for an exquisite version of "El Duelo".

It is as well as with mistical and intimate airs LA LEY UNPUGGED (2001) is in a pasage to the heart of the band. This album recibes Platinum and Golden records in all the American continent obtains to three nominations to Grammy Latino talking the award of Best Vocal Album by a Rock Band, two MTV Awards Latin America: "Best Rock Artist" and "Best Grup of the Year", Two Awards Lo Nuestro: "Best Rock Album" and " Best interpreter of Rock in Spanish"  for "El Duelo" , several nominations to Latin Billboard Prizes and an award ASCAP to Beto Cuevas, as composer for "MENTIRA".

The 2003 and after arduous months of work in Los Angeles LA LEY presented its album LIBERTAD (Freedom), (of that subjects like “Ámate and sálvate” were listened to, “Mas Alla" and " Mi Ley") that was recorded under the production of Humberto Gatica and KC Porter. This disc was sent in May of the 2003 and retakes the most powerful spirit of the band and revives - with intense letters and instruments affluent to the front the idea of a rock band. “The disc is a reflection on which the world lives”, it assures Caves. “Although the subjects continue having much melodía, something very characteristic of LA LEY , the sound of the guitars is stronger and powerful in this plate. It is a form to make bounce outside towards all that aggressiveness with that we coexisted to newspaper like human beings and to turn it positive, in an exhaust pipe, in a hope light, as it is a song”.

In November of 2005 legendary chilean band LA LEY publishes for the first time an antology that takes the mane of HISTORIAS E HISTERIA ( Histoies and Hysteria). This disc is an awaited copilation of the greatest singles of the band in addition to several unpubished cuts of the band.

Historias E  Histeria in sale in two versions: first, a CD with 13 of the greatest hits plus 3 new songs, and the second version is the CD and DVD with 23 of the best videos.

Of this copilation are extracted the singles "Mirate" (song nominated to a Latin Grammy as best 2005 video) "Histeria" and "Biembenido al Anocheser" (song that is the theme of the Mexican movie "7 Dias").

Sence Deciertos 1989, up to today , LA LEY has evolved and experimentaded in several paths, some times compleatly rocker, sometimes more electronic, some others poeticly and even singing in other lenguages like english and french.

Of this compilation they are extracted simple unpublished “the Mírate” (subject that is name to a Grammy Latino like better video of the 2005), “Welcome Hysteria” and “at dusk” (song that besides to become the main subject of the Mexican film “Seven Days”, is name to a Grammy Latino like better song of rock of the 2005).

From the recording of Deserts in 1989, to today, the sound of the LAW has evolved and experimented by several ways, sometimes completely rocker, sometimes more electronic, sometimes with poetic dyes and even singing in other languages like English and French. What is unquestionable is the permanent seal of quality of the group, characteristic that today offers the recognition him like one of the vanguardistas and possessing bands of an own sound within the international rock.

Nineteen years later, nine discs and tens of prizes (including a North American Grammy, a Grammy Latino and a MTV Award like “Better Band of Rock”) after that Comienzo, the LAW is one of the pillars of the pop-rock in Castilian. Each new album, each subject, each video, reflects growth of group that drew for to borders with intelligence and art, that conquered scenes in all Latin America, the United States and Spain, and that harvested in the way the recognition of its followers, the specialized critic and the members of the industry.

The passage was not easy: in the footpath the band lost members - among them to Andrés Bobe, guitarist and charter member of the stand for casks, that passed away in an automobile accident in April of 1994-, and had to be reinventar to itself, against all class of adversities. As it says letter Zero by day, one of its already classic subjects, the LAW “blew ash-gray of his” and appeared again yesterday to a new stage, that finally marked to its international consecration and the alignment of trio: Beto Caves in the voice, Mauricio Clavería in the battery and Pedro Frugone in the guitar, line up that the group maintains until the present.

Thus after years of work, hard and intelligent, with this disc the LAW makes patent the protagónico place that has obtained in the history of the Rock and announces receso per indefinite time.

It is the moment for harvesting the fruits of the crossed histérico of the LAW by the history of music. The rest is already part of the HISTORY, same that each one of the members of this band continues writing with capital letters.
