Major Zolf J. Kimblee (the Crimson Alchemist) is an ex-war criminal and a veteran of the Ishbal War. His alchemy title refers to his use of sulfur in the human body to create explosive fluids, turning people into living bombs. A sick, sadistic and perverse man, Kimblee loved to kill numerous civilians, women, and children just to hear the sound of them exploding, with the nihilistic view that human lives – even his own – were without substance and therefore worthless.
