Kaim Argonar

Kaim (カイム), a thousand year old immortal from the game series "Lost Odyssey" (ストオデッセイ). Having lost his memories through the trickery of the wizard Gongora, Kaim has lived through a thousand years of hardship, pain, and loss. Immortality brought longevity, as well as heartache and much sorrow. On a journey to regain his memory, Kaim teams up with Seth Balmore* (a former pirate and current soldier in Uhran army) and Jansen Friedh to find the truth and the cause of his immortality. In this journey, Kaim makes valuable friends and allies, regains his daughter (for only a very brief moment before she dies), helps his wife Sarah to cope with her depression through the loss of their daughter Lirum and rejoin as husband and wife (even though Sarah as an immortal and has forgotten all about Kaim, but by referring to the detailed journal entry, Sarah is confirmed that Kaim is her husband and that she loved him), and make some epic battle along the way with Seth and Jansen (there are more, of course, such as Ming, Mack and Cooke, Tolten, etc).

Character design by the famous manga artist Inoue Takehiko 井上雄彦 (aka Dr. T)*, who also produced works such as "Slam Dunk" (high school basketball), "Vagabond" (the feudal Samurai Miyamoto Musashi 宮本武蔵), etc. Winner of the Kodansha award and Osamu Tezuka cultural award.

Lost Odyssey is great for its storyline, battle, and according to some players, its intensely emotional moments when Kaim or other characters reveal their deepest inner feelings of love, pain, sadness, joy, loss, and regret. While Kaim gathers the pieces of his shattered memories together, his is constantly being tortured by the burden of those haunting dreams, and former incidents that evokes intricate emotions within Kaim's heart. The highly personal approach in character design, as well as emotional make-up in Kaim, and the pieces of his personal history and Kaim's personality makes Lost Odyssey every bit memorable as well as moving to play and watch at the same time. Great love, great loss, rejoining with his wife after years of seperation, seeing his beloved daughter one final time on the brink of life and death. Lost Odyssey is a must have if you crave good character developement alongside interesting video game play (a total of 30 different dreams that connects to Kaim's past are needed to be unlocked to understand the protagonist fully).

# Memories of love and personal relationships are the most essential ingredient to human; Gongora, being unable to kill the immortals physically (Kaim is one of the several men and women, including his wife Sara),decided to take away their most precious and cherished memories, and put them in despair, and excessive long life that brings the immortals, epsecially Kaim, nothing but grief. Longevity in a troubled world full of war and hatred brings absolutely no relief. As the characters seek to recall their past, they try to find the cause of their problems and defeat adversaries (political or otherwise) that hinder their goals in "Lost Odyssey".
