K-Horror is the term given to horror films made in Korea. The term literally means “Korean Horror.”
This genre of Asian horror emerged due to the enormous success of the horror films in Japan, which itself was initiated by the film Ringu. This movement in Japan was tentatively called J-Horror.
K-Horror features many of the same motifs, themes, and imagery as J-Horror, but set in its own country’s locale and influenced by their own society.

I know alot of people are all into those "grudge" movies and other shitty movies that come out in America baised on "j-horror", but I HAVE to say that there is TONS of great korean horror movies. Some that are just too creepy for words.
Examples please of the shi**y American horror movies, please. Maybe I have seen some? Thanks.
The grudge? dude…its based in Japan, come on now.
The Jap version of the grudge was alot more detailed I think. There is alot of crappy American films, but they do have their fair share of good ones just like everyone else. I'm not a big fan of the remakes of the j-horror stuff and would vote against them if I could! I just think Americans are running out of good ideas.
yea they remade alot of the j horror movies, but personally I dont think J horror is that great either. I haven’t seen one decent J horror film or its american remake. Most of the K horror films are really good though. Korean films base any genre over a good indie drama so it’s always more believable. The red shoes, redeye, tale of two sisters all give the same vibe but are all really good.
Um right well, I love Korean horror, as well as Korean movies and drama in general.
