New album sometime soon, I hope. It’s been a while.
I must confess, if anyone had described Joanna’s music to me I would have dismissed it as new age crud.
But my first exposure to JN was when I heard ‘The sprout and the bean’ on JJJ a few weeks ago. I felt as if time had frozen for 4 minutes and 20 seconds just for me to listen to this sublime combination of pixie-esque vocals and medieval sounding harp.
Truly lovely to listen too.
I adore Joanna Newsom so much. What's unfortunate though is how many people dismiss her because of her less-than-conventional voice. My friend has even nicknamed her "Joanna Nuisance."
