SOO ….HAWT!! Just Kidding Rowling! XD
I wonder if she gets plastic surgery… she gets prettier after each book comes out, which kind of goes against normal aging process.
Duh, it’s magic.
Lol.
I’m beginning to dislike her for not putting her foot down on the HP movie franchise to keep the films as close to cannon as possible. I also didn’t her latest pictorials where she looks more like a model than a writer. And the way she dressed in the last social functions she attended.. those gowns with plunging necklines! She didn’t look like a dignified writer, but some sort of a moviestar!
Well, if she were a dignified writer, I think she would write a larger variety of stories. She’s basically the literary equivelant of a one-hit wonder. And like all such artists, she’s probably just going to milk her one good idea for every euro she can squeeze from it, and use it to live the sweet life.
I don’t agree, Of course she’s going to finish the Harry Potter storie first. If she wanted to milk it, she would write more Harry Potter books. She is finished with the last book, and she isn’t going to write more even though she could. She has always have planned exactly seven books. And she doesn’t strike me as a person who just gets her money, she does many things for her fans. Plus, as a dignified writer, she is also in the process of writing a new book (not a Harry Potter book).
Lots of celebrities do things for their fans. And just because she planned only seven books, it means nothing. George Lucas originally only wrote a six episode Star Wars story, but that one franchise sparked a line of toys, video games, books, cartoons, and a TV series, all of which expand the story far beyond the scope of the original space opera. But Lucas also had the inclination to use that franchise to start some pretty successful production and effects companies. Plus he continued to create successful stories: namely Indiana Jones. Is Rowling a one-hit wonder? We won’t know for certain until at least several years after the release of her next project. But I would put my money on a “yes.”
I agree that she won’t ever be able to write something as big as Harry Potter, but she is a very talented writer. So I would put my money on “no”. Just for your information: George Lucas originally wrote nine Star Wars stories.;)
Pish Posh! Regardless, the story’s now far larger than it was originally supposed to be. I’m not insinuating that Rowling isn’t talented. Just that her talent has only been expressed on a single story line. She may be shaping up to be the female Tolkien, but she has a long way to go to become the female Dickens.
On the point of her wardrobe: Just because she’s a writer doesn’t mean she can’t be pretty or stylish or even a bit hoochie if she wants to. She’s human. She’s female. She went from poor to one of the wealthiest people in the world. She’s got to spend some of that on fun clothes.
On the point of her writing: Her style is unoriginal, but her ideas are very creative so I think she has probably got a few tricks up her sleeve. As for Dickens, let’s hope she turns out nothing like him. His stuff was way too depressing and he drew out his stories because he was paid by the word.
Well, I bet Dickens would have wished his writings were worth as much per word as Rowling’s are.
l0ve harry p0tter
successful somewhat~
so far...she's the best!!!
she's like the books she had written...simply magical...
i absolutely love Harry Potter. but she isn't that great a writer, certainly not better than W. Shakespeare, S.King or JRR Tolkien
i wonder..where did she got the idea to wrote a really best story..
I am author now and you are stupid jk rowling
i am your emeny
????
She's ok, she is not the next Virginia Woolf or anything.
True, we can't really call her a literary legend for her writing. All we have are the Harry Potter series to go by for now… But I admire her writing for the talent she does possess (not the best but good) and I am thankful for her for sharing these books and her characters to us.
i love harry potter series!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love the ideas and characters she's invented. Of course she's no Shakespeare, that's not the point. She's written the most popular young adult novels of all time and suddenly people want to diss on her for not being Shakespeare or even Tolkien. Really, though, I have to admire what she's done. She's created some classic fantasy novels, no matter how you want to spin it. And it's clear through her writing that she really has an affection for her characters. No matter who you are, you must give her credit for invisioning such a truly fantastic world. Her style of writing and prose is nothing spectacular, but I wonder, how many modern authors are truly great in that regard? I've read many of the classics and modern novels, childrens books, and teen novels, and I have to say that I've never read about such a detailed, inventive fantasy world. Or such appealing teenage characters... When Harry whines or gets mad, I'm always mad along with him, (I mean, how would I act in the same situation, had I gone through the same crap?) And when the characters fall in love (Best SPOILER i.e., Harry and Ginny, Lupin and Tonks, or Ron and Hermione) I always feel so gleeful. I don't believe I've ever, in all my years of reading, wanted a fictional world to be real so badly...or let myself almost believe that it was real.
You could argue that many novels before this have invented incredible fantasy worlds. I wouldn't argue that. But how many write about said worlds in such a down-to earth, relatable way? Not many, I'd say. She's a fantasy author for our time because she speaks and writes the way most of us do. Not in too elevated a way. All of that is why I find her work so darn appealing.
enjoy!
I love her books and i think she is a great person and rolemodel :) her birthday is coming this month.
that is ok i like peple like that
