I believe this is quite an amazing yet simple piece of software and the brilliance just might be in it's simplicity. I love the sleek design and the clean interface. It is all in all the best and anyone whom argues otherwise I would truly like to see and use what software you are using to compare!

iTunes is beautiful but not “the best player” – it’s only familiar. Does iTunes support ReplayGain? Gapless playback? More files than MP3 and Apple-AAC? :)
I think nOrriS prefers players like foobar2000. ;)

I wish you could have gapless playback when you shuffle you songs on the iPod. I would be cool. But you can’t. Or can you?

iTunes is more than just familiar… it’s well-designed software that works in an intuitive way. iTunes being free and supporting iPods is value-add… I would always rather get an iPod regardless to the features of another player simply for the interface to the computer.

iTunes is probably if not the best place to store your music for your iPod, so if you dont have an iPod forget about iTunes.
i check itunes every day to keep up with the newest updates in music and my favorite artists.

It has its good and bad points. Trying to transfer music is a pain, though I do like how its organized.

iTunes is the biggest garbage there is for Windows. Just by seeing it on someone's computer, I know they are computer illiterate. Damn Apple always trying to create a fashion statement for the teenagers to get crazy about.

i think its a lil bit slow cuz its originally for mac so on a pc you should use amarok
iTunes is, in general, NOT one of the better music players out there. Sure, it’s ‘hip’, but it falls way short of Quod Libet or Foobar2000.
For one, it’s sloooooooooooow. My computer, which is the one of fastest laptops money can buy, lags on two programs: iTunes and infinite loops that I accidentally code.
It also has no efficient way to streamline the list of songs shown, like with a list of albums or artists. Sure, it’s fine if you have 100 songs or so, but when you get up to 10000 (yes, it is possible to have that many songs) or so, it becomes nearly impossible to browse.
I could go on and on about the lack of customizable interface and lack of FLAC and OGG support and it’s thoroughly mediocre playlist system, but I’m not. Instead I’m just going to say that if you are a serious music listener or have better computer skills than my mom, you should not be using iTunes.
i like it cuz i can get music safely and stuff, but i hate how you have to pay! >:[
