There’s a lot of improvisation and intensity in the characters. Robby Müllers b/w cinematography ist superb. One can feel the in-between state germany was in at this time (1976), trapped between a past it can not overcome and a future it doesn’t want to imagine. As often with Wenders, some scenes are influenced by John Ford, in this case especially by The Searchers. English title: Kings of the Road.
