You're right there, Gbman! Whenever my grandparents opened a can of something (fizzy drink generally, not whoop-ass) they would always leave the ring-pull sticking up. Aaargghh. Push it back, damnit. Drove me nuts!
I once cut my hand badly on one of those things; it was of a type you never see today (in this country), where you lifted the ring and pulled it completely off the can. Anyway, I was stood there with my beer, with - unbeknownst to me - blood streaming down my left hand. Trouble was, I was backstage in an amateur dramatic production of Gilbert & Sullivan's Iolanthe (more info on them here if you want it), in full and now bloodstained costume as one of the Lords and I had about three minutes before Act II.
Of course, if it had been Ruddigore I would have been fine...
When i am eating m&m's, Skittles, or another assorted candy i must first divide the bag bag into colors and eat by twos and if there are any excess candies i will give them away or open another pack. When i sit at a desk i always stack everything in the corner of my desk in line with the corner (starting with largest at the bottom.) My friends would always make fun of me with that one but i can't help it... i can't focus otherwise. When i clean my room, if i even set a decorative pen on my dresser it must be in a certain position or it will drive me insane. When i see people with there tag sticking up (i don't care if i don't even know them) i will flip it. Clothes... if i see something on your clothes it will drive me crazy. i embarrass my mom by doing little things like this. i try to contain myself but it is just so hard! I have always been like this... i didn't know it had a name
I never realized so many people actually liked this in a person. i know i do, i am drawn to the eccentric. most of my friends think i have obsessive compulive disorder.
Another thing i do is read things over and over before sending... so i have probably read this a million times.
i am extremely bored so i will keep adding on random pages… i have to have my colored crayon/pencils in order of the rainbow… or as close as i can get it. i always try to light my cigarettes evenly and i don't like excess ashes.
oh, me too, ever since my childhood days i have had my coloured pencils like that! i think it's quite normal *smile*
however, i know i have some quirks that are more....well, scary.... my friends have said my emails give them the creeps because each line is the same length i.e. i tend to choose my words so that the lines will have the exact same amount of characters. it takes some extra time, but the result looks nice....
When ever I do any of my art, I have to fight myself not to crazy over those little white specks from where you haven't completely colored it all in. I mean, like with crayons, sometimes it's just impossible to get every little bit, but it drives me crazy and I just have to walk away. I also hate it when teachers are up at the board writing stuff, and when they're done and erase it… they leave little marks where they didn't erase it completely. I hate that. I can't focus if they're there, it's like they burn holes into me.
I absolutely CANNOT drink things from bottles with plastic wrappers. I must remove the wrappers before drinking from it, and it irritates me to a lesser extent to watch others doing so.
A friend of mine, to test this theory, once gave me my favorite type of gatorade at a sweltering soccer game, but super glued on the wrapper... and since I couldn't get the wrapper off, I refused to drink it until I found an empty water bottle to pour it in...
That whole thing with the emails... i try to do that, (make even) but it never works out still i insist on trying. i always make it work with essays though otherwise i won't even turn them in.
I don't have that wrapper on the bottle problem ... actually it bothers me when they are off because it leaves a sticky residue sometimes, but if it isn't there i won't just not drink from it... that is interesting though karamazov.
I hate it when i try to paint and i am not satisfied with a small detail... i spend all my time trying to correct it and then i make things worse.
hum, what do you write your essays with, panda ? i guess i would've never finished a single school assignment if i didn't write with word or latex that can automatically make the lines even, hehe! or then, i just wouldn't care *g*
i also much dislike the preposition of and try to avoid it, but when i cannot think of another option.... i use it. often.
I hate the word stuff and there are other words that bother me (i can't think of any at this moment) that i can't find other words to use in there place and it drives me insane. so i must rewrite the entire sentence.
I just hate those tiny empty spaces between crayons too :\. That's why I never use crayons, I'd rather use color pencils. At least you can color more detailed with them. I also get annoyed by the tiny empty spaces on the papers while the paint brushes are too dry or are with too little paint on them. It's crazy. And if my pencil drawings are not dark enough, I have to darken them.
I used to erase some messy words I write and rewrite them. Used to, not anymore. Now I don't really care about crazy neatness, as long as my writings are elligible to myself. I'm beginning to love cursive too ;)
Haha, when I write, I kinda do this thing where I use both cursive and print combined? I'm sure many people do it. But I think it's more interesting to look at. Best of both worlds.
Of course ;p I do that when it's early in the morning and my cursive looks horrible. Our writing styles should be whatever we want…as long as you're not presenting it to someone else and it's not elligible.
I have the worst penmenship… i use both cursive and print but i can barely read it myself, i have to sit there and concentrate just to read it. i try to write better but it doesn't work out so well.
i always eat my m&m's in a specific order- brown, red, orange, yellow, and then i even out the blues and greens and eat them so that its blue, green, blue, green, and so on but the last m&m that i eat has to be blue =]
eh... I have one that sticks out in my mind that I have no control over... I am absolutely obsessed with symmetry. (I have no clue if I spelled that right) For instance: if I am walking, I have to take the same number of steps over/on each type of flooring. I.e., if it is a tile floor, then my steps have to match the pattern somehow. If it goes from tile to carpet, I have to step onto the carpet with my LEFT foot--NOT the right, because I always step off on my left foot. If I mess up--say I <i>stopped</i> walking, and the last step was on my left foot; I have to step off on my right, because otherwise the symmettry is off; if I step off on my left again, I will take an extra step to make it even. This results in a weird stomp-type thing, which makes people stare at me. Also, if I am typing and I notice--or even get the notion--that one hand/finger/set of fingers is getting more of a workout, or typing more, I will conciously try to use words that use letters on that hand. If I can't think of any, I will pull up a blank document and type gibberish.
^^;; eh, enough of me... for now.
er... I'll comment on m&ms/skittles/any colored small candy. I have to eat them until I have the same number of each. Example: say I have 5 red, 10 yellow, and 7 brown of a candy. I will eat 3 of the yellow, then 2 each of the yellow and brown. I will then eat them, three at a time, one of each color, until they are all gone. ^^;; Well, not always, but this makes me happy.
I like to make totally complex sketches of costumes & sets, things like that, and I go extra measures just to make sure that if anyone happened to discover my blueprints or build plans, they would have no idea what the **** it is. I will spend hours doing this... I do weird things to the drawing like throwing off the shading or making strange codes. I have no idea why I do it, but every time i make a sketch, I do this... just a wierd compulsion I have. It's like I'm paraniod someone will steal my ideas.
My idiosyncracy is only murdering people on even numbered streets at the stroke of midnight. and if I miss my deadline even by a second, I whip myself with barbed lashes until the next night when I commit two murders to make up for the night before which inevitably leads me to miss my deadline which keeps the cycle right on going…
aha, the cute little tweaks in our minds. =)
or maybe it’s a constant need to feel clever, which makes everyone around me uncomfortable… whatev.

Nice link, Darth - I love that!
I just hate it when people pull the ring pull clean off. That always leads to cut lips!

I do hate it when people don't push the pop tab back down on pop cans... or whe nthe ypull it off.
Ahh... i messed up on my last message because my mother was screwing with the computer! i can't edit it! i will just retype it now.
I do hate it when people don't push the pop tab back down on pop cans... or when they pull it off.
okay... i feel a little better now. it's still depressing though. :(
