Hyde (Pronounced in Japanese: Hai-do, or in English as “Hide”, b. January 29, 1969, in Wakayama, Japan) is the lead singer for the Japanese rock band band L’ArcenCiel.
Hyde keeps his personal information secret, so much about him is either unknown or unofficial (including his real name, which is Hideto Takarai. His birthdate is January 29, 1969.)
He joined L’Arc En Ciel in 1992 after leaving another band called Jerusalem’s Rod, where he was formally the guitarist.
In addition to being the lead singer and main lyricist of L’ArcenCiel, Hyde has solo projects, as well as his own record label under Sony Japan called Haunted Records.
In 2000, Hyde married model Megumi Oishi; and they have one son together.
In 2002 he released his first solo album, Roentgen.
The next year, he played in a movie called Moonchild with GACKT (ex Malice Mizer) and Wang Lee Hom (Taiwan artist). In 2003 he also released his second album, titled 666 (read:roku roku roku or rock rock rock) which is very contrast if we compare it to the first album.
In 2004 he played in a movie, Kagen no Tsuki ~Last Quarter~, a movie that based on manga (mangaka: Ai Yazawa), with Chiaki Kuriyama and Hiroki Narimiya.
He also composed a song for a J-Pop Artist, Mika Nakashima. The song, Glamorous Sky is the soundtrack for NANA the Movie
In 2008, HYDE and K.A.Z create a new project called: VAMPS

Well… hard to comment on this guy. I just love how he says about things in life and everything. I have to admit that he looks like a girl.. especially when he was younger and long hair just like a girl. He somehow remind me of a pretty Japanese boy character.
Also, it’s surprise me that he looks so youthful even though he’s like 37-38 years old already.
The reason I like this guy cos I love the lyrics that he wrote in Roentgen Album…it’s just like seeing the other soft side of him, because he always so loud on the stage.
I love a lot of his songs and lyrics from L’ArcenCiel as well…heh heh
