It's a make believe anime couple since they're not officially an item yet in naruto either in anime or manga. Though there are some hints, it seems to be one sided coming only from Hinata. Sakura and Naruto seems to start to build up in the series as well in the manga, hopefully if the author sees there are more Naruto Hinata fan, he'll consider averting the direction of Naruto's feeling towards are shy princess Hinata.
Hinata Hyuuga balances Naruto's rugged attitude. If ever they'll be put into a mission together (manga made), Naruto's protective and responsible side will definitely show up cause he knows how delicate but capable Hinata is. More often than not, when our dear loud mouthed protagonist is around the shy Hyuuga he seems to be more reserve and acts nicely than when he is with the two girls in the series. He does'nt bash, quarrel or become loud mouthed as he does when Ino and Sakura is with him.
On my point of view I think he revere the shy Hyuuga in a way he sometimes forced himself to be less rogue. That's why he is more comfortable with Sakura and Ino around.
But again, given a chance that the two will have mission"s" together, Sakura and Naruto's closeness and understanding will rival it.
Besides, it's time for Naruto to have someone who likes him from the beginning as he is. And time for Sakura to realized how much she lost. ^^
