Highlander is a human, he's just an immortal one.
Highlander 2 reveals that the highlanders were descendants of aliens, but then highlander 3 was made as if highlander 2 never existed, and both contradict the events in highlander. The entire franchise could be seen as a huge series of contradictions, filled with facts that you can take or leave as you wish.
