hatsumomo is one of my favorite characters. she was the rival geisha in the movie "memoirs of a geisha" and is a major bitch but some how i like her anyway lol.

yeah very true. you don't like her but you can understand her.
I remember while reading the book I just thought of her as a heartless bitch, for lack of a better term, and nothing else. But in the movie, you can see more of how her life had been through the emotion in the actress. How she went through the same thing Sayuri had to, getting love riped away from her, and, unlike Sayuri, losing her will to fight. I actually almost cried… :'(
