The phenomenon of Harry Potter...J.K. Rowling's creation has cascaded into fame. This is the story of a teen wizard's epic 16 year war with the evil wizard, Voldemort. Ever since Voldemort couldn't kill Harry at the age of one, the two have shared a deep connection, that not even the most ancient magic leaves clue to. This connection, [through the scar on his forehead that was given to him when Voldemort couldn't kill him as a baby] however, cascades the boy to fame in the wizarding world (which he didnt even find out existed till the age of 11 because Voldemort killed his parents, and therefore had to go live with his non magic relatives). When Harry arrives to the British magic school, Hogwarts, he has many life and death experiences...as well as having to cope with his fame in the midst of hundreds of his wizarding peers. What many envy in him, just tears him apart and builds him up. He also has many life or death situations on the way. This all leads up to the final battle: him against Voldemort. I wont leak any spoilers to those who have not read book 7, but what do you think? will he live? or will he die?

I finished the final book last night – don't worry – I won't spoil it, but will say it was REALLY great!
I haven't even pick up my preordered copy yet…
I finished the book two hours ago..it was awesome.
i like harry potter movies never read the books thy r way to long lol
JK Rowling is the richest person in England, even richer than the Queen
And it's all because of her Harry Potter series. She's gifted. And not only that, her writing skills really improved a lot throughout the whole series.
The last book could have been shit and everybody still would have bought it, I think I heard on the news that she sold 8.3 MIllion copies within the 1st 24 hours of releasing it! Thats insane. But Im curious to see if she writes anything else after this.
The majority is crazy for Harry Potter. Not that I didn't preorder a copy...
I'm interested in her works later on as well. Since her skills have improved a lot since the first Harry Potter book, I wonder what her next work will be like.
haha ya I preordered a copy too, and I waited for it to come out at midnight haha I think besidess the parents with their kids me and my friends were the oldest people there, but I sarted the books when they first came out which was a while ago (when was the first one released?)
I'm interested to see if she does anything else or if she just lives off the HP royalties. And if she does continue with her work will the new books be the same thing, like magic and wizards, or do you think she'll start doing a different genre of books?
I guess I'm too lazy to pick it up during midnight ;p I acutally picked it up a day later...My previous neighbor works in the book store and he told us that it was crazy.
Rowling said she will be continuing to write new books. I'll certainly be waiting for them. If she uses the same idea as Harry Potter, wouldn't that kind of kill the book before it was even released? She has imagination and I think she can use it somewhere else too.
I was about half-way through the book last night when I went to bed, so I decided I should just finish it since my sister and my friend Leah are dying to discuss it with me. I actually managed to do it. It took 7 hours, and I got no sleep, but it was worth it.
i finished it monday.. really fantastic book.. loved it.
bit of a cheesy fairy-tale ending i thought though.
I wouldn't call it an affair, it was totally one-sided! I loved the ending, and I think she did it that way so she could continue with Hogwarts, etc. not using Harry as a main character, but still having him be a part of it.
Oh yes, it couldn't have been an affair...it's really one-sided.
I'm not sure about Rowling's continuation of Hogwarts... I'd think she has some imaginations other than magic and wizardry not yet been written.
Umm, just want to make a point that I changed my mind about Snape and his one-sided thing. ;) There's a reason why Rowling wrote it and I understand it now.
And also, somehow Severus Snape made it to my top. Harry's gone second, although I would prefer him about the same as Sev. ;p
yes! Great series… too bad it had to end =/
Snape is explained a lot … I was ABSOLUTELY convinced of my opinion about him, and by the end my opinion had done a 180 degree turn! Not to mention TOM RIDDLE! GAGH!
What about Tom Riddle?...except he turned into a nasty old snake-like (not insulting snakes) ugly man who was so arrogant and pretty dumb in some ways that he was beaten by Harry...?
Sorry to those who like him, if there's any.
No, just the fact that Harry stops calling him VOLDEMORT and starts calling him RIDDLE! TOM RIDDLE! At the end. Which I think everyone should have done all along, if they knew of his identity. Honestly, why call a power hungry maniac by his chosen name? He shouldn't get to make everyone call him Voldemort, he should be forced to remember his past! Honestly people. All that Lord stuff obviously goes to his head!
And TOM RIDDLE was so pathetic that he was fooled by Snape. (Though Snape's intelligent and brave enough…)
I love how Harry calls him Riddle. That part got me so excited ;p
Yes! That part TOTALLY reversed how I felt about Snape. I mean … Patronus … come on! And when they went back to Hogwarts … That was my FAVOURITE PART. Well, before all the bad stuff started happenning.
SPOILER – Even though you probably wouldn’t read the comments if you haven’t read the final book, but anyway.
Before Deathly Hallows i thought Snape was good. Then he cut of George’s ear! That was too much for me! No good man can do that! But well, it turned out to be an accident, and he really was good.
JKR has now said that she really don’t think she’ll write a fantasy book again. Creating a whole new world would just feel kinda wrong she said.
And yeah Mielikki, McGonagall was totally badass.:D
By the way, I just saw that Rowling is already writing new books ;)
This new Harry Potter movie sucked. I mean, I guess they can't fit the whole book into the movie, but coomme oonn.
don't be haters just because you know that j.k rowling rulez all the way... and harry potter rock too...
don't hate the book because you can't see how interesting it is…
I think you missunderstood. I love Harry Potter and the books. I just think the new movie sucked. They did an awful job in remaking the book. But, I guess nothing can beat the book.
No, nothing can. I think the new movie was the best yet. You just have to understand it’s just a interpretation of the book. I didn’t have my hope’s up since the third movie. But the forth movie was a pleasant surprise and the fifth absolutely amazed me.
There's no way they'll get Deathly Hallows right.
I agree. To fit in the whole book, they would have to make the movie eight hours long, which is impossible. But I think as long as they grab out the key parts and include a few interesting and important details, the movie will still be pretty good. The movie is basically an interpretation and summary of the book, so we really can't expect too much from it.
And by the way, I'm finally going to watch the fifth movie today...
Well, I changed my mind. I agree to those who did not a bit like the fifth movie. They expressed the characters so badly that I got almost furious.
i may n0t read the b0ok but ive watch the film fr0m since it started and i t0tally luv it!.....
Mah ha. Me t00?
Only joking.
Am i the only one disliking those powerpuff potter illustrations?
No. No you're not.
Well finally got around to reading the last book. I really liked it. I'm so sad it's over though!
Yeah, it’s weird that there is never going to come a new one. But I will at least be very excited when the encyclopedia comes out. Well, if it does, it probably will.
i wanna see who dies already
Harry dies! Sorta…
Yes. But it's so sad there is'ent coming more books:(
the movie is ok, but the novel is something else man!! i spend hours and hours reading it. i have read every book two times and still counting…
harry potter is a great book to grow up with! its a shame it had to finish too soon!
