The new american deluxe edition design is out. On there’s a picture of Harry, Ron and Hermione riding a dragon. Damn i’m excited. It’s like being a little child again. The older you get, the less you experience that excited feeling in your gut. But somehow, Harry Potter always brings it back.:D

Hmm. It’s like this book has been voted for, in a lot of weird categories. Best Hero, Best Movie, Best Chess Player. :/

Yeah, and now there's no space left to add it as Best Harry Potter Book.

There was one line in it that I liked a lot, which forgives the whole thing. The line to Albus Severus. "One of the bravest men I knew.."

I thought the epilogue was pretty dreadful as well. All it really confirmed was that people were reproducing like rabbits.

Epilogue...not as great as it shouldve been. Though I suck at writing so I cant talk. But I love reading and that should count.

I don’t know why people think it was awful. Was it because everyone expected to know everything that has happened to everyone. Well, I did a little, and there wasn’t much information in it, but it was good anyway. And if someone wants to know what has happened to Harry, Ron, and Hermione, JKR has told some things know.

Harry and Ron are working in the auroroffice. Harry is actually head of it. Hermione is high up in the magical lawinforcement. They have kinda revolutionized the ministry and it’s all good. And by the way, the girl Teddy was kissing, Victoire, was Bill and Fleur’s firstborn.

I say it's awful because it was badly written and looked very much like fanfiction. :) She could have written it better. Much better.

Nonsense. Read it one more time Nimble.;) I felt the same way after OotP, but I love nowadays.

i didn't like the epilogue either.  it gave no hint of what i wanted to know (what they all ended up doing after school, besides getting it on) and jk rowling made them act exactly like they did when they were still in school, so i got the sense of these fifth-years sending their kids off to school...it was weird...

the rest of the book was absofrickinlutely amazing!

Seems I'm one of the few people who actually liked the epilogue.

I have no special feelings towards the epilogue, but it was written for a purpose.

I think the reason the epilogue didn't quiet seem up to par with the rest of the book is that J.K. wrote way back in 1990. She's deveploed into a much better writer since then, but if you compare it to the first couple of books it matches up better.

But surely this ending has been written recently as it was originally supposed to end with the word 'scar'.

JKR said that it just didn’t work if she had to write what had happened to them all. It wasn’t writing, it was just fact upon fact.

The last line was originally: ...and only those who he truly loved could see the scar. Something very close to that anyway. JKR thought it was to vain, she wanted something difinitive. Harry has won and Voldemort’s gone.

I thought the ending sucked (not the epilogue). The way Harry killed Voldemort was really anticlimactic. I was hoping they'd have a duel! Or at least that Harry would use a killing curse on him or something....not just "expelliarmus." You don't use Expelliarmus on someone who is trying to kill you, Harry! Especially Voldemort! I've come to the conclusion that Harry Potter is a wuss.

That's the whole point, Voldmort was cocky and underestimated things. He didn't think that Expelliamus would be efective against him which is why it was.

That’s right. Harry also tried to get the elder wand, it wasn’t like he was trying to kill Voldemort with expelliarmus.

Ah, I’ve decided do stop writing spoiler before my revealing comments about DH. Every hardcore Harry Potter fan have read it now.

It was a great book, i just felt that the very end was rushed ever so slightly, and i was hoping the Harry-Voldemort fight would go on a little longer as well.

i hated the way voldy died…....it would he been 10 times better if someone would know shot him in the face(lol) death by muggle means….. no???? anyone second that?

That's actually a very good idea.

Yeah I think that was a ridiculous part in the book, I wanted something huuuuge and breath-taking for his death, something worth remembering to. Something you could tell your grandchildren to. But it was just a little face to face with the enemy... a little dancing around and evilish grounting... some memory backflash... and then as you read you must turn back, like "what? he's dead already? no way, he was alive in the previous page! no struggle for life? damn..." T_T

Lol, muggle shot would've been surprising. :D Or old Dumbie could've returned, maybe in ghost form, to surprise old Voldie with a bomb or something... :D Along with Blackie, saying "Surprise from behind the veil! Yay!"

well, Harry and Vold' resolve their petty issues over a game of wizards chess, as is custom in my wizarding world. Harry wins and Vold' is subsequently inclined to appologise to the Wizarding community, who graciously accept this courteous repent etc.

either that or something involving Any McNab and an SAS squad. 

I say Vold and Harry are about to duel it out and Nev. comes up to Vold. and shoots him in the face :P Killed by a pureblood through muggle means!!!!
