Hapless has been said to be a stark and arguably intense piece of work. Reminiscent of early Leonard Cohen or late Nick Drake records,for its soft melodies, quiet guitars and bare arrangements, it also evokes Smog or the Silver Jews for its bone dry and sometimes darkly sarcastic lyrics.
