Hana-Kimi, known in Japan as Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (“For You in Full Blossom”) is a shōjo manga series written by Hisaya Nakajo.
Hana-Kimi centers on Mizuki Ashiya, a Japanese girl who lives in the United States. One day, she sees a track and field competition on TV, and becomes attracted to one of the competitors, Izumi Sano, competing in the high jump. She begins to idolize the young athlete and eventually transfers to Japan to attend the same school that Sano attends. There is a catch, however—Sano attends an all-boys high school, named Osaka Gakuen, and Mizuki must disguise herself as a boy to enter. The majority of the series happens during Mizuki’s second year at Osaka (from Volume 4 onwards), although her first year was significant for her being able to remain in Osaka.
CHARACTERS
Mizuki Ashiya (Horikita Maki)
Main character of this manga. She pretends to be a boy in order to attend the school that Sano attends. She loves sweet foods and she’s a very fast runner. Mizuki falls in love with Sano, but is unable to tell him because she thinks that he doesn’t know that she’s a girl. But what she doesn’t know is that he does know that she’s a girl and he’s in love with her as well.
Izumi Sano (Oguri Shun)
The guy that Mizuki Ashiya likes. He is an excellent high jumper. He finds out that Mizuki is a girl, but does not tell anyone else and actually becomes very protective of her secret. Before Mizuki went to Osaka Gakuen, Sano had been in an accident (he save ashiya from robber that why he got an injury), causing him to quit high jumping for a while because he thought that he couldn’t handle the pressure. But thanks to Mizuki’s determination he is able to try and was given a second chance to high jump. Sano falls in love with Mizuki, but cannot tell her because Mizuki thinks that if Sano found out her secret, she would have to leave. He eventually is able to tell her and even proposes to her in the special chapter.
Shuichi Nakatsu (Ikuta Toma)
He likes Mizuki, but doesn’t know that she is really a girl, and some of his classmate believe that he is gay due to that fact. Nakatsu also seems to have come to terms with that fact. As Umeda says,”...he’s only attracted to her feminine side,” meaning that Nakatsu is responding as any teenage male would to being around a female, although it would appear he is a bit more excitable than his classmates as none of them seem to be affected by Mizuki—or they simply hide it better. He entered the school with a football (soccer) scholarship, and is very good at it. Originally from Osaka (the city, which is different from the school and spelled with different kanji), he has a thick Kansai accent and frequently uses the Kansai dialect. he make cute expressions and became ashiya's best friend in school.

I saw the tawainese version, and it irritated me cause of its tasteless humor that ruined what Hana kimi is all about.
but definately watch the Japanese version, because although there are some differences from the Manga, the overall essence of Hana Kimi is definately there.

This one sticks closer to the original plot then the other, so this is definetly the best live-action Hana Kimi.

i can't wait for the series to finish!!! the actors are great!!! i actually got to watch the taiwanese version first but i haven't finished watching it because, when i started watching the japanese version i lost interest in the taiwanese version!!! i love nakatsu, mizuki and most of all, SANO!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes…me too…in taiwanese…Ella looks like a tomboy…no offense to all S.H.E fans out there….i still think its fun watching the taiwanese version because of Jiro…and my fave, Wu Zun…but i like the japanese version a lot even though its different from the manga…all they do was having fun…if i were really really filthy rich, i would like to built a dorm school same as Osaka Gakuen…but open for boys and girls…haha…also, they must be all drop dead gorgeous too…like the drama…the school which only for Ikemen,even if you can afford the TF, it doesnt matter,You've got to be good looking…haha. what a silly idea… and oh, they have to study too or else i'll kick them out.

I soOOO forgot to add that I totally love Ikuta Toma character. I was cracking up but he's so cute when he's talking to himself and making all these hand gestures.
yeah, he's soooo good at doing hand gestures and talking to himself….he acts so natural….i felt sad about the ending though…maybe they're going to make the season 2…its such a big hit.everyone's crazy about this!

JUST FINISHED WATCHING THE LAST EPISODE LIKE AN HOUR AGO! And I now realise how deeply in love I am with Nakatsu.
I watch this for NAKATSU!!!! and all the other dorm members, but mostly NAKATSUUUUUU!!!!!!!...-さん. : ) I'm on the last episode, and this is way-y-y better than the taiwanese version, although I do not regret watching Jiro at all. Jiro is a pretty darn good element to add to any show. Go Jiro and GO Toma-さん! Yays!

The first tym that I've heard About this Jdorama... YOu Know what?! I've got really Excited to watch it!!!!! It keeps me think oF What is it about .....then..... THat's how I started Watching it... OH my Gosh!! It was VEry pRETTY and AWsome.. FABoulus!!!.. the cast acted very real and The are Very Attention- grabbing:))..
