It is all about the online play. I really feel sorry for people with a 360 that isn't online!
Capture the flag is my perennial favourite, I think. Get in there, grab it, and get the fuck back out again. It can get pretty intense!

Big Team Battle on Sandtrap with all vehicles on- such a laugh, perfect for Theatre.
I like Slayer on Guardian.
Some oddball reason! Ha! I have to admit sniping is damn fun. I can't wait until technology gets to the point where we can actually render players' faces onto characters. Then I'll be able to see someone's expression through my scope as I blow their brains out...
As for CTF, it's probably my favourite because of the instantaneousness of the attack and defend. Plus you don't get points for killing people, so murder is often purely recreational. As it should be when you're a cold hearted killer, like myself.
I think multiplayer maps should have been foreward-compatable. Bungie should have taken a tip from Mortal Kombat, that gamers like to keep older, more familiar maps as options.
