Oh, there is definitely such thing as being emo. Just like a person can be punk, metal, goth, and so on. I mean, it's a sub-culture, and trying to deny that would just make you look kinda foolish.

don’t we live in such interesting times, where we have a name for evey sort of person that pops up in our day to day life. Just so that we can catagorize everyone into minority groups

i dont agree with it as it will just lead to stereotyping and discrimination but hey.. some people do keep telling people hey im emo and shit but in the end blames other people when they got sick being discriminated because of it.. if that makes sense.. if not just ignore it.. im a rabbit for god sake

Giving a subculture a name is not discrimination. If "emo" people choose to isolate themselves from the "norm" not everyone will like it. Even if we didn't call them emo, punks, preps, jocks, and whatever, they would still be a subculture, and thus discriminated against. Naming say we've discovered a new color, we chose to name that color yorta, or whatever, some people will still not like that color no matter what name it has.

The subcultures themselves set the standards, not the people observing them. Just becase we call them out on it, does not mean we are discriminating.

It is driving me crazy that there is a picture of a guy with curly hair and it is under the semi long hair category when clearly his hair is not semi long but it is short!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Also no one put up photos of Japanese, Korean and Asian guys that is so annoying that no one notices them!  So I just had to because the semi long and long hair styles are popular in Asia, many singers and actors have their hair semi long, or long, for example Rain(Bi),Se7en, Kim Ki Bum, Kim Rae Won, Kim John Hoon, Dong Bang Shin Ki, Kat-tun, Yama-Pi, Tetsu from L'Arc En Ciel, and the list goes on.

Actually, if you know afros, you know that when they get to considerable length, IT IS semi-long hair. It's just curly. So get over it and don't attempt to argue something you don't know about.
