Jeito Moleque Adds Its Support to ZAP's Million Tree Challenge
Brazil's musical sensation Jeito Moleque represents today not only a new generation of Brazilian popular music, but also a generation that wants to act in a positive way towards life, work and all its daily activities.
Jeito Moleque is the face of a young nation in search of ways to help the environment by doing two things: First, their Bank of Trees project is helping make most of Jeito Moleque's concerts "carbon neutral" by planting and nurturing trees.
They have already planted 167 trees and will plant at least 327 by the end of 2007. For each tree they plant in the future, they will pledge their efforts towards ZAP's "Million Tree Challenge."
The Brazilian band is constantly educating its fans about the risks of global warming and how human activities, such as driving a gas vehicle and even a concert, can have an impact. Therefore, the planting of new trees can be an important way to fight global warming.
Another interesting project developed by Jeito Moleque is the “TALISMAN OF THE FOREST.” This campaign was created to promote the use of sustainable forestry certified with a FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) insignia. This certification represents that these wood products originate from sustainable forests, where the extraction does not hurt the environment and compromise the social development of local communities.
The development and implementation of all Jeito Moleque’s environmental projects are assisted by OAK Education & Environment, helping to turn their dreams into a reality.
Thanks, Bruno, Carlinhos, Alemão, Rafa and Felipe for dedicating yours efforts not only to create successful new songs, but more than this, to mobilize young people in favor to the environment. They are scheduled to come to the US this summer with concerts July 20 in Miami, July 21 in Newark and July 22 in Boston.
