ya I see where your coming from but… the whole idea that someone else is in control that i have to thank something else for all of my accomplishments and i blame something else for all of my downfalls   ..... the whole idea just seems  I dont know how to put it into words :/

A thing made up by a bunch of people looking to control you?  and by the way, you can't blame God or the church for your mess ups, you're to blame for them.  haha  I don't know, maybe I believe more in Mother Nature than in God, but I know that man has convoluted the whole theory so much that I can't support any of it any more. 

I dont know what to support or believe anymore, but I guess Id believe in Mother Nature beofre God. What I dont get is why people thank god for all of their achievments but you say we cant blame him for the mess ups??

According to the popular myth of religion you can't blame him-her-or it- cuz god doesn't cause bad things to happen, yeah right, on the other hand he don't coz good things to happen either, he just sat everything up, evolution to my way of thinking, I don't think he is watching us or helping or hurting us. The reason people thank him, curse him, pray to him is that is what they were taught to do.  There are no atheists in fox holes. i.e. when it gets rough, everybody is asking god for help.  Maybe it's the collective conscious that makes things go right or wrong you know the power of positive thinking.

hhhmmm intereting theory, and I think I like it because I remeber when I got into a car accident all I could think of was god dont let me die, which I found odd afterwards beause I dont believe hhhmm. But why do people assume its a man? Everyone always says He or Him why not She or Her? And where did people come up with the idea of what god looks like??

You have to remember who wrote the Bible, Men, and they wanted something that was suitable to other men to get a grasp on, so they made god in their image and likeness.

I seen a history channel or discovery channel show on how they come up with what was in the Bible. They had all this information from different times and different people and then voted on what to put in and what to leave out!?! WTF? So as far as I'm  concerned the bible is the best selling work of fiction of all time.

It would make more sence to me if God was a Woman, couse who can give birth to things? Man? No! Woman can. But again who was in charge of the info man, and they probably all had small dicks too. LOL

Steph, there are no stupid questions.   As I have come to understand the myth, Jesus is the son of God. Now some religion's say they are the same. But what's Christmas without the birthday of Jesus?

What's also bothered me is why is there so many religion's? If there is only one god shouldn't there be only one religion?

Ya I never got how there were always so many religions and it not like they all believe in the same God and just have different ideas about the details. no no they have totally different concepts ?? But isn't it weird how everyone (every religion) believes in one devil or one evil. Its like they cant decide on good but they have no problem deciding on evil....

yeah I don't know that much about the different religions, but know each one thinks they are the only right one.  and the whole good v. evil dosen't work with out the bad guy.  So don't know if any of this helps or not, but keep on the path to knoweldge, it's the right way to figure things out.
