We know – believe us, we know – that you can’t live without music, that it’s like oxygen to you. And we also know how you’ve always wanted to go to Japan and that you think their culture is awesome.
We can all take a little more time with our comments. Before posting something on an entry, consider what has already been posted - if there have already been two hundred posts saying “I can’t live without music!”, there’s no need to add another. Bestuff is at its best when there’s real discussion, debate and learning among fans.
Consider this, and Bestuff will be better for everyone!

yeah i agree... some of them r hard to spell.. some of 'em aren't even words!
Yeah, I only wanted to say that it seems that if you know someones name, like mine is on my introduction page, use it. I useally try to ask before I use a name if not on the introduction page.
yeah makes it a very friendly place!
My name is right there for someone to use, if they want to… Usually people who I come across a lot usually use it. I use fellow bestuffers names whenever I can, it does make it a friendly place!!
thank you.... so whats your name?
Well, dumbbrunette, because I believe the reason for not calling people by their names is because the other person might object to it. I know lackadaisy will never object to me calling her certain names.
I don't think we shouldn't use different names for the sake of people outside of the .. namer and the namee... (?) If two people are talking about something, it should be apparent who is talking to who by the very conversation they are having. If someone posts after you "Mark, I think [insert thought]", then obviously this person is not talking to you. And you will find out who this Mark fellow is when he responds.
I think real names give a friendly atmosphere. And I say I will only call lackadaisy by a different name because she is the one person I know who will not mind. If this bothers anyone, I am terribly sorry, but it really can't be helped. Imagine, if you will, that a good friend of yours joins, and has a username other than his name. How easy do you think it will be to call this person by his username, not real name? Very difficult, for me.
hmmm ok well stated! I accept your reason for using her real name :)
for one thing your a nerd and for another thing i agree it does make it mare difficult from an outsiders pointview that would be why u would say: so me and steph (dumbbrunette) r friends.
that way for the rest of the convo u can refear to her as her real name because u have given a point of refference and there fore making the convo easier to follow for the outsider. so really it's a double sided thing. u can do it either way and it really doesn't make any diffrence.
Quite the contrary… I think that comment by NimbleMarmoset was very well thought out. Personally I like to use folks real names, for certain members that I converse with a lot. It's weird, but right now I feel like I should say something in agreement with NimbleMarmoset, but who am I to agree, or disagree? She made a decision, and explained the reasoning behind it, and I respect it.
You miss my point, gbman. I thought NM's comment as eloquent as ever.
I agree with Finrod, the name discussion would really belong into the fora.
But gbman, that is a bit unfriendly towards most users who don't know the real names. And they shouldn't be bothered to dig through dozen, of sometimes quite long, profile pages to find them or scroll back pages of discussions to find the first reference. Why build this kind of in-crowd and exclude the majority of users from following conversations, especially newbies and not so frequent users, when the usernames get delivered with every posting for free? They are there for a reason. Comments on profile pages are a different thing entirely, the reference is clear there.
(Everybody knows that Nims and DebDebs have special privileges on Bestuff, though.)
for one thing your a nerd
Did that comment really have to be made?
Ouch! The fora? Yeah, maybe I'll go there sometime, when I really have time for useless comments, which begs the question... why don't you leave your comments there? BTW My "in-crowd" is the Bestuff community, If it's okay with you, I choose to remain friendly with my crowd. I have been known to talk to members whose names I don't know, and I will continue to do so, if that's still acceptable here, and I will continue to call users I am more friendly with by their own names, because I try to be friendly with friendly people.
Well said Gb! I don't really have anything to add to this conversation at the moment but I thought gb had a well thought out response to belacqua and should be congragulated because I agree whole-heartedly.
gbman, not only did you miss my point but you missed belacqua's. And that is my final comment.
ok welll then.........
I can't live without Giving Some Thought to the Comment You're about to post on Bestuff.com!!!!
BTW… censorship = bad. On the other hand, it will probably lead to a revolution in which I will no doubt play a major role…
I want to say, I don't mind so much the derailments into conversation. And I certainly don't mind your posts, O Kink Master.
The thing I just can't stand are the repetitive "I like this!" comments. They just seem utterly pointless. They may keep on going, I know I can't stop them. But please, Bestuff Gods, give me a "mark as read" button. I will sell my family for it.
i agree with masta
i don't know about u but i certainly don't take this place sereiously, i can do that in the real world here i can be who ever i want and there isn't anything anyone can do about it!
ps. masta i always love to read what u write..;)
But it's just a simple request, which you don't have to follow, but it would be very kind if you did.
@MastaKink- You make a lot of sense. (did I just say that?) I guess I must have meant it!
Finrod, I don't know when you left your comment on my page, whether or not it was after your final comment above, I don't know, but I wanted to tell you something, and to my surprise, I couldn't get onto your private page. If you won't even give me a chance to respond, or state my case- such as it is, is not very democratic. I guess my final point would be that everybody should use bestuff as they see fit. That's all…
What about those of us who just don't have lives? Where do we meet?
Real life meeting! now that lookes like fun, ill bring beer!
There are some people on here that i really like and others i put up with - GBMAN is a king Masta is very funny (and has a similar humour to me) and some of the girls are simply adorable - there are a few others worthy of a name check but i cant be arsed right now! Oh and there are others I wouldnt spit on if they were on fire!
Ok my thoughts are that it is best to stick to the Signin name on most Bests but some are obviously more bests for a group of main block users that are friends and know each others names and they should not change just so others can join in easy - they are meant just for the small group.
Giving Some Thought to the Comment You're about to post on Bestuff.com - Well I dont always
- SO THERE!!!
why dont you just say you want to spit on me :P
I would spit on you Boomface, just give me that chance… ;P
aim in my mouth plz
@the boyz: ewwww gross!
@saddam: u wouldn't spitt on me would u? *puppy dog eyes*
@everyone else: booooooooooyyyyyyaaaaaaaaa ;)
ileah - simply adorable
Let me be clear on this - If you are on fire you would want me to spit on you to put out the fire surely
If I were on fire to an extent that I could not pat the fire out, but some how your spitting would snuff the flames, then I would not only invite you to spit on me, but I would also request that you demonstrate your inhumanly drenching salivary abilities at every social event you attend.
Id pee on you then
peeing is fun…
Not when you're asleep it's not.
TOTALLY OFF-TOPIC!!!!!!!! You're hereby all whacked with a big stick. whack
Ok – those last few comments kinda prove the others right, dont they!!!!
Wait a minute… this isn't my comment page… Oh snap!
Ow! Hey, that smarts!
There must be acid in your pee if it smarts
Either that or acid on the big stick.
Now to the spam page, aka. KatsyKarma's. Everyone spams there anyway.
For the life of me, I don't understand why people are so offended by the idea of making thoughtful comments. It's not like we're saying "Do this or else!" Isn't the category description polite? So why is this offensive? Why do you find this so unreasonable? This entire thing is mind-boggling.
I agree.
Here here!
so saddam ur tellingme that if some one was on fire u would spitt and pee on them?
what r they burning because of witchcraft? (like in the middle ages)
wow im gone for a day and look at all the spamming thats been going on, I dont think Ms. Belacqua or Mr. Finrod will be pleased by this ;)
ok so where to start
2 Saddam: I totally agree with the comment you posted... 1 day ago
2 Boom: Do you always have to make everything sexual :P
2 HM: hahaha at your statement 14 hours ago (wow it took me a while to get that lol)
2 Ileah: of course because of witchcraft *duh*
Condescending when saying these things and we are mostly adults who dont like being TOLD what to do. There are ways and means to get things done - I think most people have agreed with what YOU said. Also its very tempting to children like me that when someone says dont do something to do exactly that. Kids. hehe
i think its a good thing to think before you write and before you say :):) lolz
