The best hero for a new generation? Is something wrong with you? Gees even conservatives are waking up to the mans gross incompetence.

gross incompetence is a self-correcting problem. Someone grossly incompetent is drummed out of office if he is a politician, fired if he is a employee, or loses his shirt if he is an entrepreneur.

Do you dislike Bush because you consider him to be stupid and incompetent or because you consider him to have bad intentions?

Or do you want to have it both ways? Do you consider him both stupid and mean?

Both. His Incompetance , his crimes

Do you have evidence to contradict the claims in the above articles?

to make a sincere attempt to be objective and have an open mind, one must read a good sampling of both liberal and conservative opinions.

I would say reading the editorial pages of the wall street journal for two months is a good effort, especially by a liberal.

(for one’s liberal newspaper, one can almost pick any other newspaper.)

That doesn’t answer the question. Do you have evidence to contradict the claims in the above articles?

“That doesn’t answer the question” quid pro quo how many questions of mine have you not answered?

and anyway, I did give you an answer, one which addresses the fact that you cite liberal sources only.

also, tho are hyperlinks good, in a non-academic forum like this one, one can’t expect readers to follow the hyperlinks. one is best served by briefly summarizing the sources one refers to, appealing to “common sense,” and being civil about it.

there’s only so much one can do in an informal forum like this.

all I can hope for is that my words someday persuade a person or two to change his mind, perhaps on only a single subject, from less conservative to a little more conservative.

and I would be appreciative if such a person drops me a message about it. :)

What a cop out. I’ve answered all of them, no matter if you didn’t like the responses. I use google for my sources – I guess the internet has a liberal bias. Heck, reality has a liberal bias.

I didn’t realise it was so difficult to click on a hyperlink. Good to know. I’m just so used to clicking on them, it’s silly of me to expect that other people can do the same.

You might find it hard to convince people to become more conservative. Information and evidence are the enemy of conservatism.

we can only have a meaningful dialog if each side is civil and assumes the other is well-intentioned.

I know you are well intentioned. Everyone thinks they are. That’s not too say that peoples good intentions can have poor consequences for society in general.

By the way, I like that “Speak softly, and carry a big stick…” quote. Also From Theodore Roosevelt:

“The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else.”

“I know you are well intentioned”

why would you say to someone you know to be well-intentioned person the following things?

“Is something wrong with you? Gees even conservatives are waking up to the mans gross incompetence.”

“What a cop out”

“I guess the internet has a liberal bias. Heck, reality has a liberal bias”

“I didn’t realise it was so difficult to click on a hyperlink. Good to know. I’m just so used to clicking on them, it’s silly of me to expect that other people can do the same”

You don’t understand my point. Everyone thinks they are well intentioned. The things you believe in come from a place in which you think you know what is best – you have good intentions. The reality is your ideas are poor and destructive in a greater sense.

Some things I am surprised that you are offended by. That is your own problem.

I get offended by stupid statements, but I just get over it and refute them.

My favourite quote. You’re delusional if you think it applies to anything you’ve stated. As I said many times, back it up. Any truth can be backed up. Any truth has some good evidence. Otherwise it’s propaganda.

It’s your right to think Bush is the best political leader or the best president, but, to label Bush as “the best hero for a new Generation” is quite funny but certainly not the best way to convince someone to become more conservative.
