Furisode is the most formal style/type of kimono, that is worn by a young lady, a lady who is not married yet. The furisode is made of brightly colored silk. The sleeves are long and are between 39 and 42 inches in length. Furisodes definition is swinging(furi) sleeves(sode). A furisode normally costs about ¥100,000–300,000. Furisode is usually worn when celebrating Coming of Age Day the year they turn 20, for formal social functions such as the tea ceremony, and wedding ceremonies of relatives.
