Friends by the Beach Boys

It’s a very brief and much less complex and polished record than PET SOUNDS , but it has a warmth, loveliness and simplicity that cannot be found on any other Beach Boys album.

Brian Wilson was lost in the sandbox when this album was recorded, and, consequently, the song-writing duties were shared around the group out of necessity. As a result of this, Dennis Wilson in particular came of age as a songwriter, and his influence on the group’s sound became much stronger for the next six years or so.
