Freedom is a many-faceted term encompassing the ability to act in all ways which add to that ability. It is oftentimes gauged by the degree of absence of external restraint — or control; the lack of submissiveness and servility as the anti-thesis of freedom. In the context of external control, it is also known as self-determination or autonomy — On the other hand, freedom is also called inner peace; the presence of inner control, an inner experience of choice, spontaneity, fulfillment, and even spirituality.

yay
but what is freedom?
u can never be truely free
ur always gonna linked to something
and thats a good thing
because if we were all truely free then anyone could do anything
like kill somebody and not get punished
beacause there would be no laws to hold us down
it would be chaos
Well, Ileah, that's just the supposed meaning of anarchism. Freedom is standing for yourself and making your decisions, that's all. :D
I think laws represent slavery to fear. A truely free nation would be anarchistic, because it would not ask a government to protect it.
but no nation will ever be like that HM, people like rules thery like the scheduled conformed goverment thsat runs our day to day lives in an ordered manner, we are all creatures of habit and so thus goverment stands un-threatened
People like laws now, but one day people will probably recognise universal laws, and follow them out of principal and logic. Kharma will be the recognised government, so we will not need to form one for ourselves.
maybe some day
but right now in the world there is to much chaos so we need structure.
Not everyone believes in Karma, though.
I think its a nice idea but humans are not smart enough (or too smart) to be completely at peace with ourselves. therefore it can never work – not everyone believes not everone wants peace not everyone can turn off greed – most cannot
Well, there are different principals that amount to karma. "What goes around comes around," "You reap what you sow," etc... Beside all of this, there are a number of studies that indicate that we are subconsciously sensitive to the brainwave patterns and emotions of others. Other studies suggest that we are gradually becoming more receptive to these signals broadcast by the bodies of those around us. Following this trail logically, it's a safe bet that one day we will actually be conscious of the emotions of others to the point where we will not be capable of ignoring the joy or pain we cause while dealing with them. Most people may not be able to shut off their self-absorbedness today, but one day our species will be unable to shut off its empathy.
Also, it is true that not everyone wants peace, and that some have their greed, but from what I can tell from following history, government only seems to provide a reliable method of and indeed temptation for making war, and centralizing wealth and power to the few.
And about "too much chaos": it is chaos that engineered the galaxies, the planets, the stars, and the very cells in your body, which themselves seem to be dangerously chaotic, even though the result is greater stability, and a fully functioning person, with all your organs and tissues working together in miraculous unity. To me, there is no such thing as "too much chaos."
I hope we do evolve in the way you describe but i feel that we if anything are evolving in a way that is less in touch with our feelings. I believe that evolution is a symptom of striving and therefore we will become more materialistic and more selfish.
There are two basic schools of natural selection: one is that it's every species out for itself, with the ecosystem as a lucky byproduct of selfishness. The other is that the entire ecosystem, is gradually improving itself for the good of the whole. You seem to come from the former, where as I come from the latter. It may not seem like our species is concerned about the entire ecosystem right now, and maybe as a consensus we are not. But chaos doesn't engineer with a consensus mind, it engineers with collective mind. Life learns from every hardship to which it is subjected. We as a species are training it to survive our pollution, and it engineered us specifically so that we would do so.
freedom. im loving it =)
thank u mcadonlds…
Freedom… I think nobody is free now, even if we try to be! It will be the best, if we could be free for once in our lives! Just an opinion! I wish I could be free!
Maybe we're determined. Determinism has an interesting side.
what can be of more value than freedom!!!! nothing..................
Perhaps enlightenment? But some may say the two are one in the same.
You truly can't be free there will always be rules to the most part.
It all depends on how you define freedom.
freedom is the best right that has be taken away, and is slowly being restored
Political freedom is never slowly restored. It is always taken very quickly, via lethal force. If you believe the government is returning rights to you willingly, then you're only watching one of the magician's hands.
yeah i'll agree with that..
HAPPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
XD
thank you.
haha ur welcome… again XD
FREEDOM

haha
freedom is the best thing and the whole world needs it and wants it
^You're just saying that because I put a picture of MYV there XD
Kidding..come all jrock fangirls and boys~
I don't know what freedom feels like....until nowI thin...
When I was small I wasn't allowed to go outside I always stare outside the gate I always had someone to go with me....
Everyone is esentially free to do anything in their imagination. But we all leave in a common place and this fact limits our freedom by the definition. Suppose a thousand of people wanting to pee and just one toilet. Everyone is free to use it but it is physically impossible for everyone to do it at the same time. So someone's freedom will suffer anyway even that everyone was free to try. I mean that we all have freedom but not everyone has enough space for life, or enough courage to fight for his own space. Life is not cruel, it is simply limited in space and degrees of freedom. So the best concept from this point of view should come from the set like "making more space, or becoming less in size and desires, or making zombies from other peoples, or whatever else you may imagine". Everyone picks what is best for him. I like "making more space". And stop this lack of freedom confusion. Everyone is essentially free to act, to choose, to believe. It's all about lack of something else.
In this we indeed are boudned to the people around us.The next things we people should all have, though less then 10% of the world population has it. its about: to freedom to think, freedom to speak, freedom to meet, freedom to believe, freedom to insult, freedom to critism, freedom to study, freedom to read, etc etc.....
Americans, Register and vote for Ron Paul in the approaching Republican primary election.
For freedom.

what are the odds today?
freedom freedom freedoooom
is that miyvai in that pic XDDDD <3333
oh and there is no such thing as freedom!! it's just something they want you to believe you have
we're never free. most of all not free from ourselves.
So this is a really late comment, but I just wanted to voice my agreement with Hideous monster's first argument that true freedom means being able to choose whether one wants to fight for one's freedom or not or if one even cares. That's freedom. If ppl chose to fight for it they did it out of their own will and my freedom should not be imposed upon because of it. In other words, it would be my choice to be grateful or not just like it was their choice to do it or not.
i like freedom ,not even me everybody want and love it,right
I think it is a very important quality in our life. It gives sense to our existence. What for the money and fame if we don't have a freedom ?
we do not need education !
we want freedom!!
love freedom!
