About the song...

This song was a hit single for L.A. girl band The Bangles,peaking at number one in the singles charts of six countries-The United States of America,Great Britain,The Netherlands,Ireland and Norway.It had been inspired by two 'Eternal  Flames'-that kept burning at Graceland for Elvis Presley,and also one at a synagogue in Palm Springs which co writer,Billy Steinberg,attended.Steinberg described this slow ballad as "The Beatles meet the Byrds."It was included in the multi-platinum album "Everything,"also released in 1989.
