uh i don’t think anyone invented electricity.
“Communism is Soviet power plus the electrification of the entire country,” (Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov)and there is a very nice short story from Richard Brautigan about the elctrification of the united states during the new deal.

OK so its more of a discovery or application. Its like medicine not actually invented just discovered and applied in many different ways.
