Drunk birds are definitely funny. There are plenty of birds that will happily feast on juniper berries well after they’ve fermented on the branch. There’s nothing quite like watching inebriated songbirds repeatedly fall out of juniper bushes, chirping ecstatically. Birds know how to party.
Actually the reason why i posted this item is because i was watching this one old nature documentary, called “Animals Are Beautiful People”.
In one clip, they showed this one clip, for a particular tree in the African Cavango (kind of like a savannah I think). Anyway, the fruits of the Marula tree are very very appeaaling to all the animals. Giraffes, elephants, babboons.
When the fruits begin to be overripe, they fall to the ground, and the great Marula binge begins! All the animals, the warthogs, monkeys, get in the action and eat fermented fruit. A great deal of swooning, tripping, and otherwise embarassing things happen to all of them.
The next morning, all of them experience amazing hangovers.
