"Don't Tell Me" is a song written Avril Lavigne with music by Evan Taubenfeld, who featured in the music video for this song, and produced by Butch Walker, which was the first single from Lavigne's second album, Under My Skin (2004). It did moderately well on charts, peaking at number twenty-two in the United States, at number ten in Australia, at number six in Spain, at number five in the UK and doing best in Latin-America, in Mexico and Brazil, where it reached number one.
The music video portrays Lavigne's character's boyfriend trying to tease Lavigne's character, who kicks him out of her apartment. Lavigne follows him through the street while also imitates what he does as a tease for payback, and during the bridge, she appears in several places, so the boyfriend seems tormented by her memory.
The video was nominated at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards in the category of Best Pop Video.
The song appears on Totally hits 2004 Vol. 2
The b-side, "Take Me Away", also made it onto the album as the opener.
