Knickerbocker Dolly Pops

These little dolls are dated 1979 but were heavily marketed in the 80s. They are small hard plastic dolls with interchangeable snap-on plastic clothing, bikes, chairs, etc. There were carrying cases like the one above, that opened to reveal scenes for imaginary play. Also sold were other flat “picture frame” themed scenes that had handles for easy transporting. Some of the themes were a dress shop, pet or toy store, market, western scenes, sports, etc.

The Dolly Pops kids had painted on undies and usually had synthetic ponytails that could be combed or braided. Their clothing would easily pop on and off.
